Leidos is seeking a skilled SATCOM Engineering Support Specialist to support our MARCENT program in Bahrain . This role provides Tier 2 network support for a complex enterprise-wide WAN/LAN network and Radio Frequency (RF) systems . The ideal candidate will have experience in SATCOM operations, network troubleshooting, and telecommunications inventory management , ensuring optimal performance and issue resolution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide Tier 2 support for WAN, LAN, and RF systems, ensuring seamless operations.
  • Operate and maintain SATCOM systems, including modems, redundancy switches, HPAs, LNAs, LNBs, ACUs, SSPAs, antennas, HVAC units, UPS, and generators (if applicable).
  • Conduct advanced troubleshooting beyond Built-In-Test (BIT) capabilities using Test Measurement and Diagnostic Equipment (TMDE).
  • Manage telecommunications installation supplies and maintain daily inventory tracking.
  • Operate and support satellite radios, FDMA, TDMA modems, and iDirect or Linkway modems and hubs.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to develop best practices for network configurations, monitoring, patch management, and security enforcement.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s with 4+ years of experience. Additional experience, trainings, or certifications may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Active Secret clearance.
  • Experience providing Tier 2 network support for WAN, LAN, and RF systems.
  • Proven ability to diagnose and resolve network issues, ensuring adherence to Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
  • Hands-on experience with SATCOM system operations and maintenance.
  • Proficiency in Test Measurement and Diagnostic Equipment (TMDE) usage.
  • Strong background in network security, patch management, and system monitoring.
  • Experience in inventory management for telecommunications installation supplies.
  • Current U.S. passport with the ability to live and work in an austere environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience working in a military or defense operations environment.

  • Experience or knowledge of Linux Desktop, OpenStack, Public Cloud or Virtualization technologies

Job Summary:
The Process Optimization Engineer will be responsible for analyzing, evaluating, and improving existing chemical manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, increase yield, and ensure optimal product quality and safety. This role requires a highly analytical and creative individual with a strong background in chemical engineering principles, process control, and continuous improvement methodologies. You will identify bottlenecks, propose innovative solutions, and lead projects aimed at streamlining operations and implementing new technologies. The ideal candidate will be a proactive problem-solver, adept at data analysis, and possess excellent communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams. Your expertise will be critical in driving operational efficiency and maintaining the client's competitive edge.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyze existing chemical processes to identify opportunities for optimization, cost reduction, yield improvement, and energy efficiency.
  • Design and implement modifications to chemical processes, equipment, and control systems.
  • Conduct process simulations and modeling to predict the impact of changes and optimize operating conditions.
  • Perform root cause analysis for process deviations, production issues, and quality non-conformances, and implement effective corrective actions.
  • Develop and update process flow diagrams (PFDs), piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Collaborate with production, R&D, maintenance, and quality assurance teams to ensure seamless implementation of process improvements.
  • Monitor key process performance indicators (KPIs) and provide regular reports on optimization efforts.
  • Lead or participate in process safety management (PSM) activities, including HAZOP studies and risk assessments.
  • Evaluate and recommend new technologies, equipment, and materials to enhance process performance.
  • Manage small to medium-sized process improvement projects from conception to commissioning.
  • Provide technical support and training to operations personnel on new processes or equipment.
  • Ensure all process modifications comply with environmental regulations, safety standards, and quality management systems (e.g., ISO).
  • Troubleshoot complex process issues and provide technical expertise for operational challenges.
  • Stay updated with industry best practices, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes in chemical engineering.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering from an accredited university.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in process engineering or process optimization within a chemical manufacturing, petrochemical, or related heavy industrial environment.
  • Strong knowledge of chemical process principles, unit operations, mass and heat transfer, and reaction kinetics.
  • Proficiency in process simulation software (e.g., Aspen HYSYS, PRO/II) and process control systems (DCS, PLC).
  • Experience with continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma, statistical process control - SPC).
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and data interpretation skills.
