A top legal practice in Belgium, Deloitte Legal – Lawyers is a full service business law firm, highly recommended by the most authoritative legal guides. Deloitte Legal – Lawyers comprises approximately 140 qualified lawyers, based in Brussels, Antwerp, Ghent and Kortrijk and offers expert advice in the fields of corporate/M&A, banking & finance, real estate, tax, employment, commercial, IT/IP, public/administrative, insolvency and reorganisations, and litigation.
Where appropriate to ensure a seamless and comprehensive high-quality service, our lawyers work closely with financial, assurance and advisory, tax and consulting specialists.
Deloitte Legal – Lawyers provides thorough and practical solutions tailored to the needs of clients ranging from multinational companies, national large and medium-sized enterprises, financial institutions and government bodies, to high-net-worth families and individuals (Greenille).
Currently, we are expanding the IP & IT department of our law firm and looking to hire an Associate IP / IT.
As part of our team, you will assist in a broad range of projects. We have a young, dynamic and growing team, who is very eager on further growing the practice with your help.
We advise innovative clients on a broad range of matters that relate to intellectual property rights, IT-law and all data related matters. We assist clients in securing their intellectual property rights by managing and enforcing their IP and by negotiating contracts in the context of R&D activities, manufacturing of products, joint development projects and M&A transactions. When IT-law is concerned, we advise clients about software development, assignment or licensing, about ERP implementation projects, cloud computing and new technologies such as AI and Blockchain. Both personal data and non-personal data matters make the third bucket, and relate to IoT devices, data transfers, everything-as-a-service solutions and digital applications. We often advise clients in the LSHC industry (MedTech companies, pharma companies, biotech companies) and the TMT industry (streaming platforms, sport clubs and associations, AdTech companies, etc), along with companies active in the automotive and public sector.
Our clients range from large multinational corporates and SME’ over investors and governments, to scale-ups and start-ups.
On a daily basis we work closely together with other members of the firm and also within the broader Deloitte organization, specifically with cyber security, data and cloud computing experts and the IP valuation team.
Let's talk about you As a lawyer : • you obtained your law degree with outstanding results – additional qualifications or international experience (Manama/LLM/MBA) are great assets; • you have around 2 to 6 years of experience in matters linked to the above, preferably within a law firm; • your verbal and written communication is professional, thoughtful and effective – you master Dutch, French and English fluently. Going beyond that: • you approach complex legal questions with an innovative mindset; • you embrace technology and are keen to explore how disruptive trends will shape the future of the legal profession; • you are naturally curious about the socio-economic developments that keep your clients up at night. Our Offer: • an atmosphere stimulating personal development and growth; • being part of a dynamic and growing team with a cross-border focus; • well-developed training opportunities; • a competitive remuneration package; • attractive extra-legal advantages.
