About the Role Our client, a leading innovator at the forefront of blockchain technology, is seeking a highly skilled Blockchain Protocol Developer to join their fully remote engineering team. This role is centered around the design, development, and optimization of core Layer 1 and Layer 2 blockchain protocols. You will be instrumental in pushing the boundaries of scalability, security, and decentralization, working with a global team of experts. Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and refine core blockchain protocols, including consensus mechanisms and networking layers.
- Develop and optimize Layer 2 scaling solutions (e.g., rollups, state channels).
- Write efficient, secure, and well-documented code in languages such as Go, Rust, or C++.
- Collaborate with cryptographers and researchers to integrate advanced cryptographic techniques.
- Conduct rigorous testing, performance analysis, and security audits of protocol implementations.
- Contribute to the technical roadmap and strategic direction of the blockchain project.
- Participate in technical discussions and contribute to the broader blockchain community (e.g., through open-source contributions).
- Mentor junior developers and share expertise on protocol design and implementation.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues within the blockchain network.
- Master's or PhD in Computer Science, Cryptography, or a related field, or equivalent deep technical experience.
- 7+ years of experience in software development, with a significant focus on low-level systems programming and distributed systems.
- Demonstrated experience in designing or contributing to Layer 1 or Layer 2 blockchain protocols.
- Expertise in programming languages like Go, Rust, or C++, with a strong emphasis on performance and concurrency.
- Deep understanding of consensus algorithms, P2P networking, cryptography, and distributed ledger technologies.
- Experience with performance tuning, debugging complex systems, and security best practices.
- Proven ability to work effectively in a fully remote, asynchronous team environment.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Experience with formal verification or extensive testing methodologies for complex systems.
- Active participation in the blockchain developer community is a plus.
