Our client, a prominent aviation services company supporting airport operations and airline safety, is seeking a highly skilled and diligent Aviation Safety Officer to enhance their safety management system. This full-time position is based in Hamad Town, Northern, BH , and is critical for ensuring the highest standards of safety across all aspects of aviation operations. The Aviation Safety Officer will be responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring safety programs, conducting investigations, and promoting a strong safety culture. We are looking for an experienced professional with deep knowledge of aviation regulations and a commitment to operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop, implement, and maintain the company's Safety Management System (SMS) in compliance with ICAO, Bahrain Civil Aviation Authority (BCAA), and other relevant international standards.
  • Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments to identify hazards and assess operational risks.
  • Investigate aviation incidents, accidents, and near-misses, determining root causes and recommending corrective actions.
  • Monitor safety performance indicators, analyze safety data, and prepare detailed safety reports for management and regulatory bodies.
  • Develop and deliver safety training programs for all personnel, fostering a proactive safety culture.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for safety-related inquiries from employees, management, and regulatory authorities.
  • Ensure compliance with all national and international aviation safety regulations and industry best practices.
  • Manage the safety reporting system, encouraging voluntary reporting and ensuring effective feedback loops.
  • Collaborate with various departments, including operations, maintenance, and flight crew, to integrate safety into all processes.
  • Recommend and implement safety improvements based on incident investigations, audit findings, and industry trends.
  • Participate in safety committees and meetings, contributing to strategic safety planning.
  • Maintain accurate safety records and documentation.
  • Support emergency response planning and drills.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Aviation Safety, Aerospace Engineering, Aviation Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in aviation safety, safety management systems (SMS), or flight operations within an airline, airport, or aviation services company.
  • Strong knowledge of ICAO Annex 19 (SMS), BCAA regulations, and other international aviation safety standards.
  • Proven experience in conducting safety audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations.
  • Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and identify trends.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills in English; Arabic is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Relevant professional certifications (e.g., IOSH, NEBOSH, Aviation Safety Management certification) are highly desirable.
  • Pilot's license, air traffic control license, or aircraft maintenance license is a significant advantage.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with specific safety management software.
  • Knowledge of human factors in aviation.
