Our client, a leading international mining and natural resources company, is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Geological Engineer (Mining) to join their exploration and operations team in Muharraq, Muharraq, BH . This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the discovery, evaluation, and responsible extraction of valuable mineral resources. The successful candidate will combine geological expertise with engineering principles to optimize mining processes, ensure safety, and contribute to sustainable resource development.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct geological mapping, sampling, and core logging to assess mineral deposits and determine ore body characteristics.
  • Perform geological modeling and resource estimation using specialized software (e.g., Leapfrog, Micromine, Surpac).
  • Develop and implement drilling programs for exploration and resource definition.
  • Analyze geological data to identify potential new exploration targets and optimize existing mining operations.
  • Provide geological input for mine planning, design, and scheduling, working closely with mining engineers.
  • Monitor ground stability and geotechnical conditions in open pit and underground mines, recommending mitigation measures.
  • Ensure compliance with geological standards, environmental regulations, and safety protocols.
  • Prepare detailed geological reports, maps, and cross-sections.
  • Contribute to the economic evaluation of mineral projects, including reserve calculations and feasibility studies.
  • Oversee core storage and sample management procedures.
  • Participate in site visits, field work, and geological surveys, often in remote or challenging environments.
  • Collaborate with other technical teams, including metallurgists, hydrologists, and environmental specialists.
  • Identify and implement opportunities for geological optimization in mining processes to improve recovery and reduce costs.
  • Stay abreast of new geological technologies and exploration techniques.
  • Mentor junior geologists and provide technical guidance.
  • Document all geological findings and ensure data integrity.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Geological Engineering, Mining Engineering, Geology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in geological engineering or exploration geology, preferably within the mining industry.
  • Proficiency in geological modeling software (e.g., Leapfrog, Micromine, Surpac) and GIS applications.
  • Strong understanding of mineral deposit types, geological mapping, and sampling techniques.
  • Experience with drilling programs and core logging.
  • Knowledge of resource estimation methodologies and JORC/NI 43-101 reporting standards is highly desirable.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate complex technical information clearly.
  • Strong commitment to health, safety, and environmental stewardship.
  • Ability to conduct extensive fieldwork, sometimes in challenging conditions.
  • Valid driving license is often required for site visits.
  • Fluency in English is essential; Arabic is a plus.
