Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced and reliable driver with comprehensive knowledge of Bahrain's road systems and traffic regulations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely transporting goods and passengers, ensuring timely deliveries, and maintaining a professional attitude at all times. The driver will also be expected to perform basic vehicle maintenance and report any issues promptly.
Responsibilities
- Transport goods, products, and stock between supermarket branches and the head office as per business needs.
- Ensure proper handling and secure transportation of inventory, including perishable goods, to avoid damage or loss.
- Collect, transport, and deliver invoices, purchase orders, and other essential documents between branches and the head office.
- Ensure all paperwork is correctly signed and completed for accuracy during each transfer.
- Assist in tracking the movement of goods between locations, ensuring that inventory records are accurate.
- Report any discrepancies or issues with stock levels between branches and the head office.
- Ensure all stock transfers and document collections are carried out efficiently and within scheduled times.
- Communicate any delays or unforeseen issues to management and adjust deliveries accordingly.
- Perform regular checks on the delivery vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition.
- Maintain cleanliness of the vehicle both inside and outside, ensuring it is always in a presentable and safe condition.
- Plan daily routes between branches and the head office, ensuring the most efficient travel time and avoiding delays.
- Use local road knowledge and GPS systems to navigate effectively, taking into account traffic conditions.
- Adhere to all local traffic laws, safety protocols, and company policies to ensure safe and legal operation of the vehicle.
- Handle goods, especially perishable or fragile items, according to health and safety standards.
- Maintain clear and consistent communication with the supermarket management team regarding deliveries, document transfers, and any issues encountered.
- Work closely with branch managers and the logistics team to ensure smooth operations.
- Maintain logs of deliveries, pickups, and inventory transfers, ensuring all documents are correctly filled out and returned to the proper parties.
- Report any damaged goods, discrepancies, or missing items to the relevant department promptly
Experience:
Minimum of 4 years of driving experience, with at least 2 years specifically in Bahrain or the Gulf region.
Knowledge of Bahrain Roads:
In-depth knowledge of local roads, routes, traffic patterns, and landmarks within Bahrain.
Valid Driver's License:
A valid and clean driver's license for Bahrain (Light or Heavy Vehicle, depending on the type of vehicle driven).
