Main Objectives

Post holder is required to perform all routine and non routine maintenace tasks on all the current and future fleet in accordance with aircraft approved maintenace schedule and aircraft approved docummentation and strictly adhere to authority rules and regualtions.
He/She will be whenever required to support the recovery of AOG situations and to maintain Company and 3rd party aircraft in accordance with the approved maintenance schedule using approved methods and procedures.

Main Duties

• Perform Routine & Non Routine maintenance on Companys fleets & Third party aircraft as per BCAA Regulations & Company Requirements. Supervise assigned Technicians whilst performing their duties. Certify for all work perfomed
• He is required to obtain company certification authorization to qualify him to certify routine & non routine maintenace tasks on company fleets within the scope of his company approval.
• Whenever required he will obtain the required certification authorization to certify work perfomed on third Party aircrafts.
• Perform duties when deemed necessary at short notice accompany aircraft for the purposes of carrying out routine & non – routine maintenance tasks.
• Perform any task operationally deemed necessary to maintain the fleet in an airworthy condition.
• Attend training as per company requirements, sit company technical boards for obtaining Aircraft Type Certification.
• Whenever required by the company to perform technical representation at facilities outside the home base.
• Maintain self read & write continuation training.
• Travel when required for the recovery of aircraft during an AOG situation
• Strictly adhere to company staff & safety rules & regulations
• Adhere and comply with Aircraft approved maintenance documents when performing all maintenance tasks and acquaint self with all the safety related precautions to avoid personal injuries or damages to aircraft structures and systems.
• Ensure proper tools and equipments used for aircraft maintenance are in servicable and safe condition at all times. Report any faulty tool or equipment to the Duty manager.
• Ensure unservicable tools / equipments are identified, isolated and attach with a unserviable tag.
• As part of maintenance practices ensure all tools used are registered to ensure removal on task completion.
• Adhere to Airside safety rules and regulations in regard to driving and work areas.
• Adher to the Company policy and procedures as laid down in the Technical Publications i.e. TIM, MOE etc.
• Must maintain a high level of self descipline and respect towards his superiors instruction
• Whenever operationally required, the company will train him to perfom some specilized tasks like boroscope on company fleet engines , structure assesment/ repair and others.
• Whenever necessary he will be required to deputise for the Duty manager during his absense on vacation, sickness or training.
• Ensure that all tools including mechanics tool boxes contents are checked before and after each task carried out on the aircraft. CRS must be signed only when all tools are accounted for.

Experience

Minimum of 7 years experience in aviation maintenance and 3-5 years as fully qualified certifying engineer.

Qualifications

Holder of a valid AME license recogonisaised to BCAA and Gulf Air QA, endorsed with Type rating on two of company aircraft, must be Computer literate, Fluency in reading, writing and speaking English.
Must have completed a recogonised aircraft engineers apprentiship / Formal training

To oversee and control ramp operations on their respective shift and ensure efficient implementation of procedures, rules and regulations in accordance to JAR OPS related to ground operations & aircraft handling.

MAIN DUTIES
  1. Manage day-to-day operational issues at the ramp and ensure that ramp personnel involved in the handling of GF aircrafts perform all Ramp Services procedures in accordance with ground operations manual and activity to achieve satisfactory standard.
  2. Ensure all Ground Safety and Security procedures are effectively implemented during his/her shift in order to secure aircraft, ground equipment and staff from any damage or injury.
  3. Enforce "Dangerous Goods" loading/unloading procedures as per ground operations manual in order to secure safety in aircraft, passenger and crew.
  4. Direct and monitor ULD usage to ensure all Ramp and Cargo personnel are aware of handling procedures in order to avoid damage and/or mishandling of ULDs. Liaise with appropriate departments to ensure repair and replacement programmes are followed for damaged ULDs.
  5. In conjunction with SMBH, review and develop procedures related to baggage loading for originating and transit stations in order to achieve maximum payload capacity for baggage and cargo.
  6. Monitor competitor activity at the airport and provide feedback to management team for service improvements to ensure GF provides the best service to customers.
  7. Responsible for monitoring and achieving Ramp Services operational targets at airport including KPI, on-time-performance, baggage handling, etc. based on agreed performance objectives. Investigate delay reasons and baggage mishandling reports.
  8. Constant liaison with Ground Services Department for update on latest Ground Operations Development and review day-to-day activities related to aircraft safety and security.
  9. Control baggage services actions at the airport and ensure correct/proper implementation of handling procedures are followed in order to meet international aviation standards and to remain competitive within the industry.
  10. Prepare daily baggage mishandling and highlight shortfalls and produce instructive guidelines in order to improve overall services related to baggage handling.
  11. Monitor the loading of all cargo and effective space utilization towards maximizing resources available on all routes with heavy loads and report any discrepancies.
  12. Conduct monthly station Local Performance Check (LPC) and highlight any ramp handling shortfalls to SMBH.
  13. Follow up on quick transfer baggage delivery from the incoming flights and report any shortfalls caused by originating station.
  14. Effectively monitor seasonal events such as Haj and teacher’s movement ensuring maximum support from the GHA.
  15. Raise immediate Ground Safety Report for all non-compliance matters related to ground safety rules and policies supported by photos whenever possible.
  16. Closely monitor flights that may have space or payload restriction to maximize cargo hold space utilization.
EDUCATION & TRAINING

Educated to HND level or equivalent, with good working knowledge of airport service.

Good standard of bilingual language (Arabic & English).

EXPERIENCE

Minimum 7 years experience, working in all areas of Airport & Ground Services and at least 5 years in Ramp & Ground handling operations.

Airside Safety Supervision Responsibilities

  1. Provide specialized advice on all airside safety matters related to Aviation operations within the airport.
  2. Ensure compliance with international Aviation Safety rules and regulations, by ensuring the correct establishment of the BIA Aviation Safety Quality Control System.
  3. Conduct Safety Quality Control activities to improve Safety standards, and to ensure that the Safety procedures are met from an operational and compliance perspective.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS:
  1. University degree preferred.
  2. ACI Safety Management Diploma, or equivalent.
  3. OHSAS 18001 Auditor certification, or equivalent, is desirable.
  4. Minimum 5 years’ experience in Airside Safety or Airside operations; Work experience in a GCC airport.
  5. Demonstrated experience in developing, implementing and supervising the implementation of airside safety and/or operational processes and procedures.

Job Specific Skills:

  1. Knowledge: Strong technical knowledge in implementing and supervising airside safety operations; Airport Safety Management systems; Safety incident investigations and trend analysis. Main Duties
  1. Work with, and under the direction of the designated A/C Engineers/Lic Technicians to carry out routine tasks and non-routine tasks.
  2. Replace components on Company or other operators aircraft and engines as required.
  3. Strictly adhere to company staff rules and regulation.
  4. Strictly adhere to company safety rules and regulation and to wear proper uniform and safety shoes while on duty.
  5. Adhere and comply with aircraft approved maintenance documents instructions when performing any routine tasks and non-routine tasks and acquaint self with all the safety related precautions to avoid personal injuries or damages to aircraft structures and systems.
  6. Make sure that all equipment and tools used for aircraft maintenance are in serviceable and safe condition. Report any faulty equipment or tool to Engineer or Duty Manager; unserviceable tool/equipment must be isolated and attach a with unserviceable tag.
  7. Service equipment and aircraft special tools as deemed necessary to maintain them in a serviceable, safe and clean condition.
  8. As part of maintenance practice, make sure that all tools used to perform any routine and non-routine task are registered, to ensure they are removed on task completion.
  9. On completion of routine tasks and non-routine tasks, make sure that work area is tidy and free from any loose articles.
  10. Assist in positioning and clearing equipment to carry maintenance tasks on aircraft.
  11. Make sure that all tools and equipment used are returned to proper location.
  12. Perform the headset duties during engine ground runs and aircraft towing in accordance with company TIM procedures.
  13. Adhere to Airside Safety Rules and Regulations in regard to driving and work area cleanliness.
  14. Purchase an approved tool kit containing appropriate tools to perform duties on the company and third party fleets.
  15. Perform the required duties in accordance with AME and Duty Manager instruction and aircraft approved documentations procedures.
  16. Maintain a high level of self-discipline and respect his superiors instructions.
  17. Become familiar with Gulf Air Information System AMOS and its basic transactions related to this work scope.
Experience

It will be advantageous to have 3 to 5 years working as an A/C technician and/or general experience in a similar field. An apprenticeship with a reputable Aircraft Maintenance Organization shall be an additional advantage.

Qualifications

Must be able to write, read and understand English to be able to understand aircraft approved documentation procedures while performing routine and non-routine tasks on the company fleet during maintenance input. It will be an advantage to pass Basic Aircraft License Modules or hold a valid EASA Basic Aircraft License or equivalent which is recognized by BCAA and company Technical Quality Assurance.
