Position Overview:
To ensure the technical excellence in the development and execution of solar projects, contributing to their overall success and alignment with the National Energy Strategy (NES) renewable and decarbonization targets and BE’s renewable growth goals. This position will assist in the detailed engineering, design, and technical oversight works of solar energy projects from initial planning through to construction to ensure technical designs meet performance, reliability, and cost targets while adhering to industry standards and regulations
Key Responsibilities:
Project Origination
- Execute the initial site evaluation to evaluate suitability for PV installation, considering factors like land use, topography, environmental impact, and grid connectivity.
Feasibility Studies
- Conduct the technical evaluation studies for potential project sites, including resource assessment (solar irradiance), grid interconnection studies, and environmental impact analysis.
Permitting and Regulatory Compliance
- Responsible for gathering and sharing the site-specific data for the environmental and permitting teams, and help ensure the project meets zoning, environmental, and building code requirements.
- Assist in preparing documentation for permits and approvals/ licenses to operate and to ensure compliance with zoning, environmental, and other applicable regulations.
Technical Design and Engineering Oversight
- Create/review initial layout designs, module placements, and electrical configurations.
- Provide support in the optimization of design for maximum energy yield, considering factors like panel orientation, shading analysis, and equipment selection.
Project Execution and Construction Progress
- Coordinate with contractors, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure project components are delivered on time. Assist in preparing the project progress reports, and present findings to the program manager.
Stakeholder Management
- Coordinate with project stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and suppliers, ensuring alignment with technical requirements. Support in preparing the stakeholders’ presentations with relevant technical and project data to communicate project benefits, potential impacts, and mitigation strategies.
Project Financing
- Support the financial team by providing technical input for cost analysis, budgeting, and project financing. Ensure providing accurate CAPEX and OPEX estimates based on engineering design.
- Support the senior engineer in responding to the enquires of the Lenders’ Technical Advisor (LTA) in efficient manner.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Renewable Energy Engineering, or a related field (PMP and/ or Master’s preferred).
- Experience: Minimum 5+ years of experience as project engineer
- Proficiency in PV system design software (e.g., PVsyst, Helioscope)
- Understanding of electrical system design, including experience with CAD tools (e.g., AutoCAD).
- Knowledge of grid interconnection and permitting processes.
- Ability to interpret technical data, conduct yield analysis, and support financial modeling.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to support stakeholder presentations, permitting documentation, and project reporting.

Qualification And Experience
Education level
- Undergraduate/ Postgraduate engineering degree in related discipline (Chemical/ Mechanical/ Electrical/ Instrumentation). Process Data Analytics/ Business Management related additional qualification(s) would be an added advantage.
Experience
- Minimum of 10-15 years post qualification industrial experience. This shall be cover at least 10 years in Power industry, out of which of least 5 years shall be in Renewable Energy / Power Grid control (Solar PV, CSP, Wind, WTE, BESS, EMS for RE/ Hybrid grid, Smart Grid control/ Microgrid/ DERMS ). Experience should be of one or more of the below in nature:
- Operation /Maintenance/ Commissioning of RE/ Hybrid plants
