AECOM is seeking Assistant Resident Engineer (ARE) for civil infrastructure projects to be based on site in Bahrain. The ARE will work under the Resident Engineer and will lead the site team and is responsible for managing the services' scope to ensure that the site activities are executed by following the construction documents and specifications and in compliance with the project requirements. **Job Duties**

Our client, a reputable engineering consultancy known for its diverse portfolio of infrastructure and urban development projects, is seeking a diligent Junior Civil Engineering Drafter to join their technical team in Riffa, Southern, BH . This is an excellent entry-level opportunity for an aspiring professional to gain hands-on experience in civil engineering drafting.

As a Junior Civil Engineering Drafter, you will be responsible for preparing detailed technical drawings, plans, and maps under the supervision of senior engineers and designers. Your tasks will involve translating design concepts into accurate visual representations using CAD software, assisting with drawing revisions, and maintaining drawing archives. This role requires strong attention to detail, a foundational understanding of civil engineering concepts, and proficiency in CAD tools.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare civil engineering drawings, including site plans, grading plans, utility layouts, and road designs, using AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
  • Assist engineers in translating conceptual designs into detailed working drawings and construction documents.
  • Revise drawings based on engineer mark-ups, client feedback, and project requirements.
  • Ensure all drawings comply with industry standards, project specifications, and local regulations.
  • Perform basic calculations related to quantities, areas, and volumes as required for drawing development.
  • Organize and maintain drawing files and project documentation in an orderly manner.
  • Collaborate with other drafters, engineers, and project managers to ensure consistency and accuracy of drawings.
  • Print and plot drawings as needed for submissions and internal reviews.
  • Learn and apply new drafting techniques and software functionalities as per project needs.
  • Assist in the preparation of project presentations and visual aids.

Qualifications:
  • Associate’s degree or technical diploma in Civil Engineering Technology, Drafting and Design, or a related field.
  • 0-2 years of experience in civil engineering drafting, including internships or academic projects.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and basic familiarity with Civil 3D.
  • Basic understanding of civil engineering principles, terminology, and drawing conventions.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in drafting.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering plans, sketches, and specifications.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new software and design methodologies.
  • Proactive attitude and strong work ethic.
