Job Description
Your core responsibilities will include creating detailed 3D CAD models and 2D manufacturing drawings using industry-standard software (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA, AutoCAD). You will perform stress analysis, thermal analysis, and other simulations to validate designs. The role involves collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, including electrical engineers, manufacturing engineers, and project managers, to ensure designs meet functional, aesthetic, and performance requirements. You will be involved in material selection, component sourcing, and prototyping. Furthermore, you will conduct design reviews, document design decisions, and contribute to the continuous improvement of design processes and standards.
The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. A minimum of 4 years of professional experience in mechanical design and CAD modeling is required. Demonstrable proficiency in at least one major 3D CAD software package is essential, along with a strong understanding of drafting standards (ASME Y14.5). Experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) software is highly desirable. You should have a solid grasp of manufacturing processes (e.g., machining, injection molding, sheet metal fabrication) and materials science. Excellent problem-solving abilities, creativity, and a keen eye for detail are necessary. Strong communication and collaboration skills are vital for effective remote teamwork. This role demands a self-starter with excellent time management skills, capable of working independently and delivering high-quality design documentation. Your contributions will be critical in bringing new products from concept to reality, all within a remote work framework.
