Our client, a leading consultancy firm focusing on agricultural development, is seeking a remote Agricultural Economist with strong expertise in Market Analysis and Strategy. This role is critical for providing data-driven insights and strategic recommendations to agricultural businesses and policymakers. You will be responsible for conducting in-depth market research, analyzing agricultural supply chains, evaluating economic trends, and forecasting market demand for various agricultural products.
Key responsibilities include developing economic models to assess the impact of government policies, market fluctuations, and technological advancements on the agricultural sector. You will conduct comprehensive cost-benefit analyses for agricultural projects and investments. The Agricultural Economist will also be responsible for identifying new market opportunities, evaluating competitive landscapes, and advising clients on market entry strategies, pricing, and distribution. Preparation of detailed reports, presentations, and policy briefs will be a significant part of your work. Collaboration with clients, industry experts, and international organizations will be essential to gather data and validate findings.
The ideal candidate will hold a Master's or Ph.D. in Agricultural Economics, Economics, Finance, or a related field. A minimum of 5 years of experience in economic analysis, market research, and strategy development, preferably within the agricultural sector, is required. Strong quantitative and analytical skills, with proficiency in statistical software (e.g., Stata, R, EViews) and econometrics, are essential. Experience with financial modeling and forecasting techniques is a must. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely, are critical for this remote role. Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines is crucial.
