1. Preparation of project construction schedule;
2. Review project plans and specifications and comment on the building design, possible cost-saving measures, and potential construction problems;
3. Expedite all material & shop drawing submission and approvals;
4. Monitor and maintain the project construction schedule on a weekly basis;
5. Coordinate design clarifications or changes with the contractors;
6. Review design/shop drawings & coordinate design changes or deviations with site check electrical & mechanical engineers;
7. Maintain and enforce good construction standards and quality control;
8. Control and monitor labor, material, and equipment expenses;
9. Ensure 'As-Built' drawings and O&M manuals are prepared on an ongoing basis by all trades during the construction period and issue final close-out to consultants/owners accordingly;
10. Other arrangements as directed by the leader.

Requirements:

1. At least 5 years of work experience in Bahrain.
2. Familiarity with construction management, especially in the schedule, quality, and HSE aspects.
3. Experience with MOH for social villas or related infra works.
4. Local Civil license (CRPEP).
5. Good command of English.
6. Currently based in Bahrain.
7. Bachelor Degree in civil engineering.

Job Description

The Senior Civil Engineer will be responsible for supervising and managing civil engineering works related to the Sewer Scheme Supervision Project. This role requires an experienced engineer with extensive knowledge of sewer network construction and infrastructure projects in the GCC region

• Oversee the construction of sewer networks, including pipeline laying, manhole construction, and micro-tunneling.
• Review and approve construction materials, methods, and method statements.
• Ensure that all construction activities comply with project specifications, standards, and OH&S requirements.
• Conduct regular inspections to ensure the quality of the works and materials.
• Review and approve shop drawings and other submittals, ensuring compliance with the design.
• Monitor and report on the progress of the works, providing updates to the Project Manager and Ministry representatives.
• Coordinate with contractors, resolving any technical issues that arise during construction.
• Ensure that the project is completed to the highest quality standards and within the agreed timeline.
  
  
  

• Minimum of 10 years of experience in civil engineering, with a focus on sewer systems and infrastructure projects.
• Experience in the GCC region, with local experience in Bahrain being an advantage.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and quality control practices

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Conduct site investigations, feasibility studies, and technical assessments.
• Prepare detailed engineering designs, drawings, specifications, and tender documents.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant building codes, regulations, and industry standards.
• Review and approve engineering calculations and design submissions.
• Manage construction activities, ensuring quality control and adherence to project plans.
• Liaise with clients, government authorities, contractors, and other stakeholders.
• Identify and mitigate project risks, proactively addressing challenges.
• Stay updated with the latest advancements in civil engineering technology and practices.

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering; Master's degree is a strong asset.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification is required.
• Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in civil engineering, with a significant portion in project management and design.
• Proven experience in managing large-scale infrastructure projects.
• Expertise in civil engineering design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D) and project management tools.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and standards.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet strict deadlines.
• Proficiency in technical report writing and presentation.

• Proven expertise in structural analysis, geotechnical engineering, transportation engineering, or water resources engineering.
