1. Performing or assisting in the engineering, installation, operation, and maintenance of core IP infrastructure and network in accord with established procedures facilitating effective operations and smooth network availability.
2. Designing, implementing and executing the set plans for networks and cabling as per the Organization’s business requirements.

14. Implementing security devices and applications to monitor and reviewing network, servers, and applications to ensure adherence to central information security guidelines.

25. Administering server storage capacity, monitoring data collisions and system processes and patches, and rectifying issues ensuring that they are ready and correctly deployed.
26. Participating and testing the efficiency of disaster recovery procedures so that they can be reinstated in a timely and integral manner without any loss of data in the event of a disaster scenario.

Responsible for the provisioning, configuration, operation, and ongoing maintenance of the organization’s IT systems and network infrastructure. Principal Responsibilities:

• Administer, maintain, and optimise all core systems, including Windows Server environments, virtualized platforms (VMware/Hyper-V), and cloud services (Microsoft Azure, Office 365).
• Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot wired and wireless network infrastructure, including firewalls, switches, routers, and VLAN configurations.
• Manage Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, email services.
• Perform daily system health checks, backups, and regular patching; ensure high availability and business continuity for all critical systems.
• Conduct network performance tuning, capacity planning, and proactive issue resolution to minimise downtime.
• Provide hands-on and remote support to users; resolve incidents, service requests, and infrastructure problems escalated from the service desk.
• Maintain datacenter infrastructure and environmental monitoring systems at multiple sites.
• Ensure robust cybersecurity through regular log reviews, vulnerability assessments, and compliance with internal and regulatory standards.
• Collaborate with the IT Team in Dublin HQ to help standardise IT across infrastructure, security & processes.
• Lead the university's annual IT audit process, ensuring readiness, documentation, and timely response to audit findings.
• Responsible for overseeing all aspects of cybersecurity, including policy implementation, incident response, and user awareness training.
• Document procedures, configurations, and network/system topologies; maintain a knowledge base for internal IT use.
• Support IT procurement, vendor coordination, and contract management for infrastructure-related projects.
• Lead or contribute to infrastructure upgrade projects, system migrations, and strategic IT initiatives.
• Mentor junior IT staff and contribute to the continuous improvement of IT services.

Requirements

Required Qualifications & Skills:

• Associate or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
