Main Objectives
On the ground responsibility of the various professional engineering activities as per assigned shift. Ensures efficiency in operations by providing certification and defect rectification, inspecting items as required on the aircraft, ensures that qualifications are valid and that safe working practices are adhered to against set guidelines. Ensuring all line maintenance tools and equipment is functioning effectively and as per airline and regulatory specification.
Main Duties
- Be aware and promote the Company's Corporate Policy at all times.
- Be familiar with the Company's Security Management System, Quality Management System, Aviation Safety Management System, Occupational Health & Safety and Environmental Management Systems.
- Be responsible for raising an Occurrence Report, when necessary, on anything discovered that may cause harm or damage to people, aircraft or property.
- Perform the activities of the assigned shift and ensures receipt of timely and accurate shift related information from pervious shift personnel (reviewing the handover sheet prepared by the outgoing shift, identifies issues or discrepancies and rectifies if applicable).
- Key point of contact for various sections within Line Maintenance and airlines to provide technical support reports on services rendered as per assigned shift.
- Overall responsibility to provide technical handling as per the organization exposition and the operator line maintenance procedure.
- Carry out ARR/DEP headset communication when operation necessitates.
- Monitor and follow the technical checklists received from each operator or updated by the technical librarian.
- Reviews airline logbook / post flight report to identify the nature of technical support required.
- Performs line checks as per checklist provided by the operator.
- Ensures rectification of problems and provide necessary certification (Release to Service Certificate, Pre-Departure Check etc.) Based on the scope of authorization and the organization capability list.
- Prepares regular summary reports for airline with details of the technical services provided; these include nature of problem, rectifications, adherence to the updated maintenance data/ guidelines etc.
- Monitors the status of equipment available within the shift (based on handover sheet) and plan allocation of these as per movement sheet.
- Liaises with airlines / flight operations to provide inputs on flight delays (on technical grounds) and coordinates with team to ensure smooth operations; inform seniors and airlines on technical defects beyond the preview of BAS.
- Identifies requirements for equipment replacement and support and coordinates with concerned sections (workshop etc.) to ensure timely completion of activities.
- Liaises with various sections of the operators to ensure adherence to policies and guidelines during an emergency / accident situation.
- Comply with the Company and Airport authorities’ health, safety, and security regulations.
- Ensure that his/her personal recurrent training requirements remain valid. (Human Factor Training, EWIS, FTS Training, Continuation Training, etc.)
- Ensure his/her company authorization remains valid.
