Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Developing, implementing, and optimizing manufacturing processes for electronic components and sub-assemblies, including SMT, through-hole, and final assembly.
- Leading process improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement methodologies.
- Designing and implementing automated manufacturing systems and solutions to increase throughput and reduce labor costs.
- Troubleshooting production issues, identifying root causes, and developing effective solutions to minimize downtime and improve yield.
- Developing and validating new manufacturing equipment and processes, ensuring robustness and scalability.
- Creating and maintaining Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and Work Instructions.
- Conducting capability studies and implementing process controls to ensure consistent product quality.
- Collaborating with R&D, Quality Assurance, and Product Engineering teams to ensure manufacturability and DFM (Design for Manufacturing) principles are applied.
- Managing process documentation, change control, and validation activities.
- Providing technical support and training to production staff and technicians.
- Analyzing production data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement.
- Evaluating new manufacturing technologies and materials for potential adoption.
- Ensuring compliance with all relevant industry standards, safety regulations, and environmental guidelines.
- Managing projects related to process upgrades, new product introductions, and equipment installations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in manufacturing engineering, specifically within the electronics manufacturing sector.
- Proven expertise in SMT (Surface Mount Technology) and other electronic assembly processes.
- Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma (Green Belt or Black Belt preferred), and SPC.
- Experience with automation, robotics, and industrial control systems.
- Proficiency in CAD software and process simulation tools.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
- Strong project management and organizational abilities.
- Effective communication, interpersonal, and team collaboration skills.
- Familiarity with quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001, AS9100).
- Experience with DFMEA and PFMEA is a plus.
