You will play a key role in ensuring that all structures are robust, compliant with building codes, and cost-effective.
Key responsibilities include:
- Designing and analyzing structural systems for buildings using state-of-the-art software (e.g., SAP2000, STAAD.Pro).
- Developing detailed structural drawings, calculations, and specifications for foundation, frame, and other structural elements.
- Ensuring compliance with relevant building codes, standards (e.g., ACI, AISC, BS), and project requirements.
- Collaborating with architects to integrate structural designs seamlessly with architectural concepts.
- Reviewing contractor submittals, shop drawings, and construction methods for structural compliance.
- Providing technical guidance and support to site engineers and construction teams during the execution phase.
- Identifying and resolving structural design issues and construction challenges proactively.
- Performing site inspections and quality control checks to ensure construction integrity.
- Managing structural engineering project phases, including scope, schedule, and budget.
- Mentoring junior structural engineers and fostering a culture of technical excellence.
- Staying updated with advancements in structural engineering materials and techniques.
The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or a related field. Professional Engineering (PE) or Chartered Engineer status is highly preferred. A minimum of 7-9 years of progressive experience in structural engineering design and analysis for building construction projects is required. Proven experience in managing structural aspects of projects from concept to completion is essential. Strong proficiency in structural analysis software and CAD tools is mandatory. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and leadership skills are necessary for success in this demanding role.
