MAIN OBJECTIVESResponsible for building and maintaining contractual agreements within the cargo system to help GF Sales compete effectively in the marketplace and to detect early signs if sales trends in any market are falling short of targets.
MAIN DUTIES- Monitor and review GF’s market prices versus competitors on all routes; recommend pricing policies; evaluate and approve pricing and capacity proposals submitted by Regional Route Managers to ensure optimal capacity utilization without losing market share.
- Review market intelligence reports on competitor activities regarding fuel and security surcharges; adjust prices accordingly to stay competitive.
- Process all cargo reservation requests system-wide through Cargo Capacity Planning team.
- Finalize and submit the annual Cargo revenue budget for approval; provide regular reports on Cargo performance against targets.
- Analyze negative sales trends, identify causes, collaborate with Sales Force, and seek solutions to recover losses, possibly from alternative markets.
- Develop plans for introducing freighter operations and identify new product opportunities.
- Coordinate strategies on cargo acceptance on critical routes; implement measures to limit acceptance when space is limited.
- Implement alternative routing strategies to manage cargo backlog and space limitations.
- Secure space for important cargo such as postal mail, courier, and company shipments across the system.
- Recommend aircraft type changes to optimize revenue considering local factors.
- Manage the central cargo control group responsible for schedule and capacity data input into the SITA Cargo System.
- Participate in meetings with handling agents to minimize mishandling; liaise with ULD Control Officer regarding container configurations.
- Maintain and analyze cargo system data for accuracy and insights.
- Summarize reports from Regional Managers to develop cohesive pricing and capacity policies.
- Establish cargo pricing and capacity policies to maximize revenue per cubic meter, balancing short and long-term interests.
- Strengthen relationships with partners through competitive interline and trucking strategies.
- Participate in IATA Tariff Conferences to protect GF’s interests.
- Recommend product changes to improve performance; monitor competitive activities; explore network expansion opportunities, including dedicated freighter services; provide detailed market analysis to executive management.
- University degree or equivalent.
- Minimum 6 years of experience in cargo pricing or sales.
