Job Summary
The Finishing Carpenter will be responsible for the precise finishing of wooden components, fixtures, and fittings in our houseboats and floating structures. This role requires a meticulous eye for detail and the ability to deliver high-quality craftsmanship that aligns with V-Marine’s luxury standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Install and finish wooden components, including cabinets, moldings, doors, and trim.
- Sand, stain, varnish, and polish surfaces to achieve the desired finish.
- Read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints to ensure accurate installation and finishing.
- Conduct quality inspections to ensure all woodwork meets the company’s high standards of craftsmanship.
- Collaborate with the design and production teams to address any issues or modifications related to woodwork finishing.
- Operate and maintain woodworking tools and equipment, ensuring proper use and care.
- Repair or replace damaged wooden elements as needed.
- Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized workspace.
- Ensure timely completion of projects while maintaining high levels of craftsmanship and quality.
- Work with various materials, including hardwood, softwood, and marine-grade finishes.
- Proven experience as a Finishing Carpenter, preferably in luxury construction or marine projects.
- Strong knowledge of woodworking techniques, tools, and materials.
- Excellent attention to detail and precision in craftsmanship.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and plans.
- Experience with finishing techniques, including sanding, staining, varnishing, and painting.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to adapt to design changes and challenges.
- Physical ability to handle the demands of the job, including lifting, bending, and working in confined spaces.
