Position Summary The Second Sanitation Steward compliance to company rules and regulations associated with Public Health and the daily operation of the utility galley and dish wash/pot wash operations. This position is responsible for maintaining catering equipment properly and the overall cleaning of all food contact items, equipment and the catering area facilities. This position maintains the highest levels of sanitation and hygiene of the F&B catering operation.
Essential Functions- Supervising of all utility galley crew who perform daily operations such as dishwashing, pot-washing, restocking of the service line with plates and crockeries, deck & bulkhead cleaning and maintenance, paper towel and soap restocking and the overall cleanliness of all the galleys including the crew galley, specialty restaurant galleys, lido galley and the main galley. Ensure reasonable and proper manning of each station during hours of operation.

To organize, plan, coordinate, schedule, execute and lead soft services operations at airside, landside, ancillary buildings and external associated facilities; ensure safe and effective operation to deliver cleanliness of buildings, aircraft parking stands, grounds, all BIA carparks and service roads, regulatory compliance and contractor service delivery as per contract scope, specifications, SLA and KPI standards.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIESTo plan and schedule Preventative Maintenance (PPM) Soft Services activities in Airside, landside, and Ancillary Buildings within BIA.
Plans all preventatives/periodic deep cleaning, pest control, FOD control, apron cleaning, bay washing, potable water delivery, waste disposal service, and provision of heavy equipment operation to support other FM departments with the objective to maintain the serviced facility to the highest possible standard of cleanliness, hygiene and FOD safety.
Ensure that all activities shall be planned/scheduled in consideration of FM consolidated maintenance and minimum interruption to amenities availability.
To lead the Soft Services operations in the Airside/Landside and Ancillary Buildings, ensuring timely and efficient execution of PPM, CM, and routine activities of the section operation plan.
Leads soft services team of in-house and contractor personnel assigned to the section, managing operational activities (routine, periodic and corrective maintenance).
Ensures individual and team working within the section execute their functional responsibility professionally and meet with job objectives and accountabilities.
All PPM and CM activities are executed on time and as per plan.
Provide support and oversight to comply with health, safety and environmental regulation and promote safety culture.
To ensure compliance with company and statutory regulations relating to safe systems of work, health & safety of personnel and workplace, hygiene & cleanliness, fire safety, FOD control, aerodrome safety (specifically to apron), industrial waste disposal regulations, and COSHH regulations. Ensure control measures are in place and implemented across all relevant areas of operations, educate and motivate promotion of safety culture throughout the operation.
To ensure maintenance of stocks and contractor minimum inventory.
Ensure contractor critical materials are sufficiently stocked at site to overcome supply side interruptions such as stocking chemicals, janitorial and critical machinery spare parts at the level required to overcome risk of shortage affecting works.
Reporting to management on issues of escalation and operations updates.
To provide daily and relevant feedback and operational report to Senior Manager Soft Services, ensuring the department leadership team are aware of progression against planned activities, critical operational and business issues immediately.
Reports and documentation to ensure department operational documents namely forms, slips, delivery notes, receipts, shift reports, work completion documents etc. are duly filled, reviewed, consolidated, and submitted to the coordinator for hard and soft copy filing as per department's documentation process. Ensuring that all operational activities are carried out as per SOPs, policy, manual, and professional standards.
Carry out proactive inspections of facilities served. To conduct inspections of the assigned buildings and locations for soft services works and activities to check the level of services provided by the service contractors in line with the deployment schedule, frequency, and specifications and as to their outcome standards.
To receive materials and consumables for All Soft Services Section, to receive from suppliers consumables, cleaning materials, chemicals etc. ordered by the department, verify against the order scope and specification and direct team to distribute/store as per designated locations.
Assess, review, and adjust operational performance to meet targets. Ensure self-assessment of sectional performance, analyze the quality standard gaps, improvement potential, review feedback, take management direction, suitability of input methods and resources and make necessary arrangement to maximize productivity resulting in overall operational excellence.
To respond timely and proactively to rectify and resolve operational issues. Ensure day to day operational issues, complaints, service requests, incidents and work orders are effectively handled and resolved before they reach an escalation or become a department or managerial issue.
To respond and allocate resources (manpower and equipment), schedule tasks and coordinate with heavy equipment section (HEOs) & ECC for executing and resolving incidents (FOD sweeping, oil spills, water delivery, Hiab/Basket truck equipment support, moving/shifting) etc.
QUALIFICATIONSEducation / Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Hospitality, Business Administration or equivalent.
Awareness of ISO 9001; 14001 and 45001 (QMS/EMS and SMS) requirements.
Working knowledge with Maximo, CAFM systems.
Knowledgeable in aviation security and airside safety protocols.
Awareness of FOD safety and aerodrome safety measures.
EXPERIENCEExperience
10 years full time work experience of which a minimum of 3 years in Facility management (industrial focus) general services or industrial cleaning operations or a large soft services contract management; and 2 years of experience leading a custodian/janitorial services team with a minimum of 200 staff under supervised functional control; or flat minimum 5 years’ experience in leading the soft services or janitorial team for a reputed international airport.
