Job Description
To assist in the provision of aviation and occupational health services among employees and render primary care to entitled dependents in accordance with Company Policy.
To participate in the clinical activities of Medical Department for the maintenance of fitness among employees.
MAIN DUTIES:- Perform physical assessment according to patient’s verbal complaints and manage the case accordingly.
- Refer cases to GF doctor for further assessment/treatment. At the same time refer Industrial Accident cases to Health Centres and Government Hospitals.
- Prescribe primary medications and treatment within nurse’s limitations.
- Attend emergency cases within the company perimeter, and in the absence of doctor, decide if needs transferring to A/E through 999, and render basic first aid when required.
- Administer nursing treatments such as Ear Wick, nebulizer, injections, IV and dressings etc.
- Perform diagnostic procedures such as ECG, audiogram, tympanogram, eye test, spirometry, blood and urine test.
- Conduct eye test for driving license of company vehicle for ground staff and for associated Companies.
- Dispense medicines in the pharmacy in the absence of the pharmacist.
- Prepare the patient and assist the doctor during any required procedure.
- Conduct nursing part for aviation CLASS I, II and III CAA-BAH medicals for flying crew.
- Ensure that all aviation medicals for pilots and cabin crew are not pending and finalized within one month of conducting the medicals.
- Liaise with CAA-BAH authority to send the pilot medicals after completion to their end on a monthly basis.
- Participate and conduct the yearly quality operational audits.
- Conduct nursing part for the pre-employment and recontract for staff and other associated Companies.
- Maintain confidential and comprehensive medical records of patients.
- Perform individual daily assigned tasks.
- Answer telephone inquiries, and call patients by telephone to inform messages from the doctor.
- Prepare and certify first aid kits, emergency medical Ambukits and UPK and any required items for Operations that may arise such as COVID items or else based on regulation and company needs for usage in all Gulf Air aircrafts as per CAA-BAH requirements.
- Ensure accurate handling of Industrial and Non-industrial Accidents.
- Enter all employee sick notes in the staff medical file which are received from outside GFMS from private or governmental establishments through HR department.
- Carry out doctor’s orders.
BS in General Nursing (Licensed Registered Nurse).
Excellent in written and oral communication (English), Arabic is an advantage.
EXPERIENCEMinimum 5 years of post-graduate experience in Accident and Emergency, Medical or Surgical Nursing.
