This role is crucial for restoring vehicles to their pre-accident condition, encompassing everything from minor dents to major collision damage. Key Responsibilities:
- Assess vehicle damage and develop a repair plan in accordance with manufacturer specifications and insurance guidelines.
- Perform structural and non-structural repairs, including frame straightening, panel replacement, and dent removal.
- Utilize various tools and equipment such as welders, sanders, and paint guns.
- Prepare vehicle surfaces for painting, including sanding, priming, and masking.
- Mix and apply paint, ensuring a flawless finish that matches the original vehicle color.
- Disassemble and reassemble vehicle components as necessary for repairs.
- Ensure all repairs meet safety standards and quality benchmarks.
- Keep accurate records of repairs performed, materials used, and time spent on each job.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to all safety protocols.
- Collaborate effectively with other technicians, painters, and service advisors.
Required Qualifications:
- Technical certification or vocational training in auto body repair and painting.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of proven experience as an Auto Body Shop Technician.
- Proficiency in various body repair techniques, including welding, panel beating, and body filler application.
- Experience with paint mixing and application techniques.
- Strong knowledge of vehicle construction, materials, and repair methodologies.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Physical ability to lift heavy parts and work in various positions.
- Valid driver’s license.
