Position Overview:
The Construction Worker 1 operates under the guidance of the Site Foreman or Construction Supervisor and is responsible for performing a variety of physical tasks on construction sites, including building, demolition, excavation, and general site upkeep. This role is essential in ensuring the project progresses safely, efficiently, and in alignment with project specifications.
This position description is subject to change at any time as needed to meet the requirements of the program or company.
Carry out general construction activities including concrete mixing, pouring, compacting, and curing.
Assist with excavation, backfilling, grading, and trenching.
Load, unload, and move construction materials, tools, and equipment to appropriate locations.
Operate basic hand tools and powered equipment under supervision.
Erect and dismantle scaffolding, barricades, and temporary structures.
Perform manual labor in support of carpenters, masons, plumbers, electricians, and equipment operators.
Clean and prepare construction sites by removing debris and hazardous materials.
Follow safety protocols strictly, including PPE use and safe lifting techniques.
Maintain tools and equipment in proper working condition.
Perform demolition tasks as required, ensuring proper disposal of materials.
Assist in site measurements and marking layouts as directed.
Follow instructions from supervisors while maintaining professional conduct on-site.
