As Data Center Facility Manager, you will be responsible for engineering operations and maintenance across the Amazon availability zone. As an Engineering Operations Engineer, you will operate and maintain AWS DCs' world-class mechanical and electrical infrastructure following a process-oriented approach. In addition, you will oversee facility operations and ensure the implementation of safety procedures.

- Operate and maintain mechanical and electrical, mechanical, emergency generator, HVAC and fire/life safety equipment within the data center
- Troubleshoot facility and rack-level events within internal SLAs
- Perform root cause analysis of equipment failures
- Drive innovation while reducing operational costs in the facilities
A day in the life
- Work rotational shifts of 4 days of 12 hours shifts (2 days followed by 2 nights), and 4 days off (including night, weekends and holidays) / Respond to on-call rotation reaction to off-duty emergency calls
- Take daily operational readings of all mechanical and electrical equipment through routine rounds/log-taking (temperatures, voltages, currents, etc.)
- Supervise contractors who perform servicing or preventive maintenance

WhatJobs is looking for an accomplished and detail-oriented Remote Senior Civil Engineer to lead complex infrastructure design and project management initiatives. This is a fully remote position, enabling you to contribute your expertise from anywhere while driving critical engineering projects. You will be responsible for the conceptualization, design, and oversight of various civil engineering projects, including transportation networks, water systems, and structural developments. The ideal candidate possesses extensive experience in civil engineering design, a strong understanding of project management principles, and exceptional problem-solving skills.

Key responsibilities include leading the design process for civil infrastructure projects, ensuring compliance with all relevant codes, standards, and regulations. You will prepare detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and cost estimates. Project management duties will encompass planning, scheduling, resource allocation, and supervising project execution to ensure timely and within-budget completion. You will also collaborate with stakeholders, clients, and regulatory bodies, providing technical guidance and resolving design challenges. A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering is required, along with a professional engineering license (e.g., PE) and a minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in civil engineering, with a strong focus on infrastructure projects. Experience with design software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or similar is essential.

The ideal candidate is a highly motivated and self-directed professional with excellent leadership and communication skills. You must be adept at managing multiple projects simultaneously and effectively collaborating with remote teams, consultants, and clients. Strong analytical and critical thinking skills are necessary to address complex engineering challenges.
