Key responsibilities include:
- Developing and implementing procurement strategies for electrical components, ensuring alignment with company objectives and quality standards.
- Identifying, evaluating, and selecting qualified suppliers based on performance, cost, quality, and reliability.
- Negotiating favorable terms, pricing, and contracts with suppliers to achieve significant cost reductions and optimize value.
- Managing the end-to-end procurement process, including requisition, purchase order creation, expediting, and invoice reconciliation.
- Monitoring market trends, price fluctuations, and new technologies within the electrical components sector to inform procurement decisions.
- Collaborating closely with engineering, production, and quality assurance teams to ensure component specifications meet requirements and to resolve any supply chain issues.
- Building and maintaining strong, long-term relationships with key suppliers to foster partnership and ensure consistent supply.
- Managing supplier performance, conducting regular reviews, and addressing any performance deficiencies.
- Ensuring compliance with all company procurement policies and ethical standards.
- Analyzing inventory levels and coordinating with supply chain planning to optimize stock levels and prevent shortages or excess inventory.
- Leading sourcing initiatives and contributing to strategic sourcing projects.
- Forecasting component needs and planning procurement activities accordingly.
Essential qualifications and experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field; relevant certifications (e.g., CPSM) are a plus.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in purchasing and procurement, with a specific focus on electrical components or related electronic materials.
- Demonstrated success in negotiating complex contracts and achieving significant cost savings.
- In-depth knowledge of the global electrical component market, including key manufacturers and suppliers.
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems and procurement software.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel for data analysis.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
- Understanding of international trade and logistics is advantageous.
