Responsibilities:
- Plan, schedule, and perform preventative maintenance on all electrical equipment and systems.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical malfunctions and failures, implementing timely and effective repairs.
- Install, test, and commission new electrical equipment and systems.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
- Ensure compliance with all national and local electrical codes, safety regulations, and company policies.
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment status.
- Manage spare parts inventory for electrical components and equipment.
- Identify opportunities for improving electrical system efficiency and reliability.
- Work with external contractors and vendors for specialized electrical work.
- Participate in safety inspections and risk assessments related to electrical systems.
- Provide technical support and guidance to maintenance teams and operational staff.
- Respond to emergency electrical issues and ensure prompt resolution.
- Adhere to all health and safety procedures.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in electrical maintenance, preferably in an industrial or manufacturing setting.
- Strong knowledge of electrical theory, power distribution systems, control systems, and instrumentation.
- Proficiency in using electrical testing equipment and diagnostic tools.
- Ability to read and understand complex electrical drawings and schematics.
- Familiarity with relevant electrical codes and safety standards (e.g., NEC).
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a maintenance team.
- Experience with PLC programming and troubleshooting is a plus.
- Must be able to work in a hands-on capacity and potentially respond to off-hours calls.
