Job Description
The Electrical Maintenance Supervisor will be responsible for planning, organizing, and directing all electrical maintenance activities. This includes overseeing preventive maintenance programs, responding to emergency repairs, managing spare parts inventory, and ensuring the effective performance of the maintenance team. You will work closely with production and engineering departments to identify and address electrical-related issues, implement continuous improvement initiatives, and ensure compliance with all safety regulations.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supervising and coordinating the daily activities of the electrical maintenance team, including electricians and technicians.
- Developing and implementing comprehensive preventive and predictive maintenance programs for all electrical equipment, including motors, generators, switchgear, control panels, and lighting systems.
- Troubleshooting and diagnosing electrical faults and malfunctions, ensuring timely and effective repairs.
- Leading emergency response efforts for electrical failures and ensuring rapid restoration of operations.
- Managing the inventory of electrical spare parts and ensuring adequate stock levels.
- Ensuring all electrical maintenance activities are performed in accordance with safety standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Conducting safety inspections and promoting a strong safety culture within the maintenance department.
- Training and mentoring maintenance staff on new equipment, procedures, and safety practices.
- Interpreting electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals to guide maintenance and repair activities.
- Collaborating with the engineering department on new installations, upgrades, and modifications to electrical systems.
- Maintaining accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment history, and spare parts usage.
- Managing contractor performance when external electrical services are required.
- Implementing continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability and reduce maintenance costs.
- Participating in root cause analysis for equipment failures and developing preventative measures.
Qualifications:
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical maintenance, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
- Proven experience in troubleshooting and repairing industrial electrical systems and equipment.
- Strong knowledge of electrical theory, control systems, PLCs, VFDs, and industrial automation.
- Familiarity with preventive and predictive maintenance techniques.
- Excellent understanding of electrical safety standards, including lockout/tagout procedures.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and technical specifications.
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and testing equipment.
- Experience with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) is a plus.
