Role Description
This is a full-time hybrid role for a Safety Officer. The role is located in Manama with some work from home acceptable. The Safety Officer will be responsible for implementing and monitoring health and safety policies, conducting safety training, investigating accidents, and ensuring compliance with occupational health and safety standards. The Safety Officer will also assist in maintaining security measures and promoting a safe work environment.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Ramp Safety Responsibilities
l Conduct daily apron, Manoeuvring area inspection and weekly stakeholders joint inspections and submit activity reports / check-lists
l All the inspections and audits shall carried out as per established procedure and checklist forms.
l Conduct monthly data analysis of safety reports
l Provide reports on any findings or breaches of the Aviation Safety Regulations or procedures for appropriate action and issue violations when necessary; upload the reports to the Airside Operations Reporting System; follow-up with stakeholders as and when necessary.
l Implement and monitor compliance of the Foreign Object Debris (FOD) program;
l Assist with preliminary investigation conducted whenever incident or accident is occurred. Ensure that there is appropriate safe site control in relation to vehicle movement and aircraft parking.
l Carry out spot checks to record the condition of vehicles and equipment and submit a report to Manager - Aerodrome Safety
l Monitor ramp activity and the safe operation of flight turn around operations
l Provide good quality customer service while at the same time not compromising Aviation Safety;
l Assist Senior Officer - Aerodrome Safety when conducting investigations, as and when necessary
l Attend emergencies when required and coordinate with Airside Operations, ARFFS, and Ministry of Interior for effective management of emergency situation. Follow the instructions provided by Manager - Aerodrome Safety to ensure safe movement of vehicles, equipment, and personnel.
l Attend when Aircraft Recovery is taking place and assist with the implementation of recovery procedures in liaison with Airside Operations and ATC. Follow the instructions provided by Manager - Aerodrome Safety to ensure safe recovery/removal process.
l Maintain Aerodrome Safety databases including driving, inspections, violations, accidents, and incidents
l Monitor during Back-up Runway operation to ensure safe movement of vehicles and personnel on the service road and Aprons.
l Monitor and issue violation of vehicles/GSE speed, parking and ensure adherence to Airside speed limits and take necessary corrective action in cases of violation.
l Attend when low visibility procedures are activated to ensure safe operations (vehicle movement and personnel duties) during low visibility conditions; in liaison with Airside Operations and ATC.
l Carry out regular spot checks of construction sites to ensure that work permits are available and valid and also inspect the area to ensure that the contractor adheres to airside safety requirements.
l Carry out inspection other area such as airport perimeter fence, Aerodrome open area. Report any safety related observations (i.e. risk of wildlife entry, poor lighting levels, growing vegetation, damage) to Manager - Aerodrome Safety and as and when relevant.
l Work closely with Airside Operations and ATC during heavy rain to ensure safe and expedited deployment of dewatering pumps at the airfield.
l Perform other job-related duties as assigned by the Manager - Aerodrome Safety or Senior Officer - Aerodrome Safety or Senior Officer- Aerodrome Standard
l Conduct Airside Safety Training and inductions for stakeholders and contractors.
l Carry out regular safety promotion activities and awareness sessions to the stakeholders and contractors.
Wildlife Hazard Management:
l Monitor the airside for wildlife activity and report to Wildlife Specialist when wildlife activity is observed.
l Assist Wildlife Specialist as an when required in carry out inspection or spot checks
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS:
Minimum Qualification:
l Bachelor's degree preferred
l Knowledge of International Civil Aviation Organization Standards (ICAO), as well as other National and International aviation safety standards and recommended practices.
l NEBOSH Certificate, or equivalent, is an advantage
Minimum Experience:
l Minimum 2 years' experience in a similar role in the aviation or private industry, is desirable
l Minimum 3 years Driving license
