About the Role Our client, a prominent operator of premier live performance venues within the Arts & Entertainment industry in Isa Town, Southern, BH , is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Lighting Technician. This crucial role involves the setup, operation, and maintenance of advanced lighting systems for a diverse range of productions, including concerts, theatre, and corporate events. You will work closely with lighting designers, production managers, and artists to bring creative visions to life through sophisticated lighting design and execution. The ideal candidate possesses extensive knowledge of stage lighting equipment, programming consoles, and troubleshooting techniques, ensuring flawless technical execution for every event. - Set up, program, and operate complex stage lighting systems for various live events and performances.
- Collaborate with lighting designers to interpret their artistic vision and translate it into technical execution.
- Maintain and repair lighting equipment, including fixtures, cabling, power distribution, and control consoles.
- Manage inventory of lighting equipment and supplies, ensuring adequate stock levels.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to lighting systems during rehearsals and live performances.
- Operate lighting consoles (e.g., ETC, GrandMA) to execute cues and effects as per the lighting designer's specifications.
- Oversee and guide junior lighting technicians and stagehands during load-in, setup, and load-out.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and venue protocols related to electrical work and stage operations.
- Assist in the planning and budgeting of lighting requirements for upcoming productions.
- Stay current with advancements in lighting technology, including LED fixtures, moving lights, and control software.
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in stage lighting or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience as a lighting technician in a live performance or theatre setting.
- Proficiency in operating and programming industry-standard lighting consoles.
- Strong understanding of electrical principles, rigging techniques, and safety procedures.
- Experience with a variety of stage lighting fixtures, including conventional, LED, and automated luminaires.
- Ability to read and interpret lighting plots, hook-up diagrams, and cue sheets.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
- Physical stamina to handle long hours and perform manual labor as needed.
- Knowledge of networking protocols for DMX and Art-Net is a plus.
