- Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of maintenance staff, including electricians, plumbers, carpenters, and general maintenance workers.
- Develop and implement comprehensive preventative maintenance schedules for all facility systems and equipment.
- Oversee and perform repairs and maintenance on electrical systems, plumbing, HVAC, lighting, and building structures.
- Ensure all maintenance activities are carried out safely and in compliance with company policies and regulatory standards.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies, diagnosing issues and implementing timely solutions.
- Manage inventory of maintenance supplies, tools, and equipment, ensuring adequate stock levels.
- Prepare and manage the maintenance budget, controlling costs and optimizing resource allocation.
- Coordinate with external contractors and vendors for specialized maintenance and repair services.
- Conduct regular inspections of the facility to identify potential issues and areas for improvement.
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair work performed, including work orders and inspections.
- Train and mentor maintenance staff, promoting skill development and adherence to best practices.
- Ensure a clean, safe, and functional working environment for all employees.
- Contribute to the planning and execution of facility upgrades and renovations.
- Proven experience as a Facilities Maintenance Supervisor or in a similar leadership role within maintenance and operations.
- Strong knowledge of building systems, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical systems.
- Experience in developing and implementing preventative maintenance programs.
- Proficiency in reading blueprints and technical schematics.
- Excellent leadership, team management, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Familiarity with maintenance management software and work order systems.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to respond effectively to emergency situations.
- Relevant trade certifications or a degree in a related field are advantageous.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to facility maintenance.
