Our client, a leading research institution renowned for its cutting-edge work in medical technology, is seeking a highly accomplished Senior Biophysicist to spearhead advancements in medical imaging. This pivotal role is based at our state-of-the-art facilities in Saar, Northern, BH , and will involve pioneering research into novel imaging modalities and enhancing the resolution and diagnostic capabilities of existing technologies.
The successful candidate will lead a team of researchers and technicians, guiding projects from conceptualization through to preclinical validation. Your expertise will be crucial in developing sophisticated algorithms for image reconstruction, processing, and analysis. This will involve applying principles of physics, biology, and computer science to create innovative solutions for early disease detection and personalized medicine. You will be instrumental in designing and conducting experiments, interpreting complex datasets, and publishing findings in high-impact scientific journals. Collaboration with clinicians and engineers will be essential to ensure that research outcomes translate into practical clinical applications. Responsibilities include securing research grants, managing project budgets, and mentoring junior staff. A significant part of your role will involve exploring new frontiers in areas such as MRI, CT scanning, ultrasound, and optical imaging, with a focus on improving contrast mechanisms, reducing scan times, and enhancing patient safety. You will be expected to present research findings at international conferences and contribute to the intellectual property portfolio of the institution. Qualifications:
- Ph.D. in Biophysics, Physics, Biomedical Engineering, or a closely related field.
- A minimum of 7 years of post-doctoral research experience in medical imaging.
- Demonstrated expertise in at least two major medical imaging modalities (e.g., MRI, CT, PET, Ultrasound).
- Strong background in mathematical modeling, signal processing, and image analysis algorithms.
- Proven track record of leading research projects, managing teams, and securing research funding.
- Experience with scientific programming languages such as Python, MATLAB, or C++.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a history of publications and conference presentations.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including clinicians and engineers.
- Familiarity with regulatory pathways for medical devices and imaging technologies is a plus.
