Reporting line:
- Reporting to the Facilities Management division’s Food Safety Manager.
Responsibilities:
- Assisting and supporting the Food Safety Manager in ensuring the highest standards of food safety within the organisation
- Playing a vital role in promoting a culture of food safety and maintaining consistent standards across the organisation.
- Supporting the implementation and continuous improvement of food safety programmes of BMMI, including documentation and adherence to all the protocols.
- Ensuring compliance with current and developing food safety standards and coordinating food safety efforts for internal and external stakeholders while promoting best practices.
Your profile:
- Diploma in food science, microbiology, food packaging systems, or related field.
- Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) certification, or any other relevant certification is preferred.
Years of experience and other skills:
- Minimum 1-2 years’ experience in food safety or audit function.
- Prior experience in FMCG / Supply Chain in a diversified group preferred.
- Good understanding of food safety and hygiene practices.
- Working knowledge of HACCP plans.
- Well-versed with handling a POS system (GOLD).

Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and manage robust food safety and quality assurance programs, including HACCP, GMP, and ISO standards.
- Conduct regular internal audits and inspections to ensure compliance with all food safety regulations and company policies.
- Oversee product quality testing, from raw material inspection to finished product analysis.
- Investigate customer complaints related to food safety and quality, implementing corrective actions and preventative measures.
- Manage supplier qualification and auditing processes to ensure the safety and quality of incoming ingredients and materials.
- Train staff on food safety best practices, hygiene standards, and quality control procedures.
- Stay up-to-date with evolving food safety regulations and industry best practices, ensuring the company remains compliant.
- Lead and mentor the QA/QC team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with R&D, Operations, and Procurement teams to ensure food safety and quality are integrated into product development and supply chain management.
- Prepare reports for senior management on food safety performance, audit findings, and quality metrics.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry, or a related field.
- Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in food safety, quality assurance, or quality control within the food industry.
- Extensive knowledge of HACCP, GMP, ISO 22000, and other relevant food safety certifications.
- Demonstrated experience in leading and managing a QA/QC team.
- Strong understanding of food microbiology and chemical safety principles.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively train and influence staff at all levels.
- Experience in regulatory compliance and interacting with food safety authorities.
- Proficiency in relevant software for record-keeping and analysis.
- A commitment to upholding the highest standards of food safety and quality.
