This role is crucial for ensuring the efficient and safe storage, handling, and dispatch of goods. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of warehouse management systems, inventory control, and logistics principles. You will be responsible for leading a team of warehouse staff, optimizing space utilization, and maintaining accurate inventory records. This position requires a hands-on approach, excellent leadership skills, and a commitment to operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and coordinate the daily operations of the warehouse, including receiving, storing, picking, packing, and shipping of goods.
  • Manage and train warehouse staff, ensuring they adhere to safety protocols and operational procedures.
  • Oversee inventory management, conducting regular cycle counts and ensuring accuracy of stock levels within the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
  • Optimize warehouse layout and space utilization to maximize efficiency and safety.
  • Implement and enforce strict health and safety regulations to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Monitor and manage the performance of warehouse equipment and ensure timely maintenance.
  • Coordinate with the logistics and transportation teams to ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment and delivery.
  • Maintain accurate records of inventory, shipments, and operational costs.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance warehouse efficiency and reduce operational costs.
  • Prepare reports on warehouse activities, inventory levels, and staff performance for management.
  • Ensure all goods are handled with care and stored appropriately to prevent damage or loss.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; further education or certification in Logistics or Supply Chain Management is a plus.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in warehouse operations, with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory or lead role.
  • Proficiency in using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and other inventory management software.
  • Strong knowledge of inventory control techniques and best practices.
  • Excellent understanding of health and safety regulations in a warehouse environment.
  • Proven leadership and team management skills.
  • Good organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 50 lbs).
  • Effective communication and problem-solving abilities.
  • Familiarity with local logistics and transportation networks is an advantage.
