Job Summary
The Registered Nurse is responsible for delivering safe, evidence-based, and compassionate care to patients admitted in inpatient wards, Intensive Care Unit (ICU), High Dependency Unit (HDU), and Rehabilitation units of a long-term care facility. The role involves continuous patient monitoring, administration of treatments, collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, and supporting patient recovery and quality of life in line with Bahrain’s National Health Regulatory Authority (NHRA) standards.
Key Responsibilities Patient Care & Monitoring- Provide comprehensive nursing care for patients in inpatient, ICU, HDU, and rehabilitation units.
- Monitor vital signs, neurological status, and overall patient condition, escalating concerns to physicians as appropriate.
- Administer prescribed medications, infusions, and therapies accurately and safely.
- Assist in ventilator management, tracheostomy care, and advanced life-support interventions.
- Support rehabilitation goals by assisting patients with mobility, ADLs (activities of daily living), and therapy coordination.
- Perform nursing procedures including IV therapy, wound care, catheterization, suctioning, and enteral feeding.
- Maintain infection prevention and control practices in compliance with facility and NHRA standards.
- Ensure accurate documentation of assessments, interventions, and patient progress in electronic medical records.

11. Responsibly for maintaining open communication channel with management in regards of nursing duties, services requirement, patient’s safety and risk management.
12. Report and document incidents involving patients, visitors, staff, equipment or facilities.
13. Other duties as may require by the management.
**Education and Continuing Professional Development**:
1. Ensure the provision of a learning environment to support all learners within the clinical settings.
2. Be source of information and education for patients, patient’s families and community regarding healthcare issues and explain and answer questions in understandable manner.
3. Ensure that all nursing staff receives appropriate orientation to the organization, the department and their job responsibilities.
4. Identify educational needs of staff, establishing programs to meet these needs and contributing to staff’s professional development.
5. Actively participate in staff development and performance management. Provide feedback to staff through informal and formal performance appraisal processes.
6. Provide formal and informal teaching in both theory and clinical setting. Prepare and provide learning materials for use within clinical area.
7. Continue to develop and extend own knowledge of current trends, professional matters and new development in nursing.
**Quality, Safety and Risk Management**:
1. Adhere to and support all defined standards, processes, policies and procedures.
2. Support and participate in quality initiatives and accreditation process as it pertains to the assigned clinical area, cooperating fully with every initiative to secure accreditation.
3. Ensure the quality standards are met in terms of audit, complaints, incidents, risk, patient feedback, benchmarking, and data collection.
4. Participate in the development of policies and QI.
5. Adopt a proactive approach to risk management, ensuring risk assessments are conducted, appropriate actions are taken, and all incidents, near misses and hazards are reported.
6. Ensure that any incidents are documented and investigated accordingly to the agreed procedure.
7. Ensuring that all medical requirements for accreditations are met.
8. Acting as safety and infection control officer in all clinical area.
9. Developing procedures according to policy and accreditation standards.
