Job Description

VAM Systems is currently looking for Production Support Engineer (Offshore assignment) for our Bahrain operations with the following skillsets and terms & conditions:

Professional Certifications

• Candidate from Computer Programming background
• Certifications related to Data & Analytics would be an added advantage

Skillset:

• 5+ years SQL programming experience with expertise in Microsoft SQL Server or other relational databases.
• Experience in production platform support/management and troubleshoot incidents (3+ years).
• 3+ years of scripting (Shell/Bash).
• 5+ years of experience with Power BI reports, visualization dashboards and data exploration.
• Experience of using monitoring and scheduling tools such as Control-M, and/or Autosys.
• 4+ years of ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) Programming experience.
• Experience in Data Standards and Procedures, ETL/ETT/ETM Tools and Process, Data Mining, Data Collection, Data Warehousing, Data Marts

Responsibilities:

• Supporting multiple applications, of varying complexities and technical scope, in the production Datawarehouse environment.
• Owning the Incident, Problem and Knowledge Management processes at the operational, functional, and technical levels.
• Analysing, troubleshooting, and resolving live production issues in a timely and efficient manner.
• Reviewing, approving, implementing, and verifying scheduled production changes. This will include taking turns chairing CAB meetings.
• Coordinating and communicating between multiple technology stakeholders (Vendors, Infra Support, DBAs and the Dev teams) and functional stakeholders (senior management, business users) during tactical (Incident) and strategic (problem, change) issue remediation.

• Minimum of 6 years of experience in manufacturing operations, with a strong focus on process improvement and efficiency.

• Oversee the planning, scheduling, and execution of preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance for all industrial equipment.
• Lead and mentor a team of maintenance technicians, assigning tasks and ensuring work quality.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot complex mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic system failures.
• Perform high-level repairs and overhauls of production machinery and plant equipment.
• Develop and implement maintenance strategies to minimize downtime and optimize equipment performance.
• Ensure compliance with all plant safety regulations, policies, and procedures.
• Manage spare parts inventory and ensure availability of critical components.
• Maintain detailed maintenance logs and records using CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System).
• Analyze equipment performance data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
• Participate in equipment installation, commissioning, and upgrades.
• Contribute to capital expenditure planning and equipment modernization projects.
• Train technicians on new equipment and maintenance procedures.

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in industrial equipment maintenance within a manufacturing or heavy industry setting.
• Proven expertise in troubleshooting and repairing a wide range of industrial machinery (e.g., CNC machines, conveyors, automation systems, heavy presses).
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Experience with CMMS software and inventory management.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, schematics, and manuals.

• Analyze existing chemical processes to identify areas for improvement in efficiency, yield, and cost.

• Design and execute pilot plant studies and scale-up trials for new or improved processes.
• Implement and monitor statistical process control (SPC) measures.
• Develop and update standard operating procedures (SOPs) for optimized processes.
• Collaborate with plant personnel to ensure successful implementation of process changes.
• Evaluate and recommend new technologies and equipment to enhance process performance.
• Conduct root cause analysis for process deviations and implement corrective actions.
• Prepare technical reports and present findings and recommendations to management.
• Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations in all process modifications.

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering.
• 5+ years of experience in process engineering, with a focus on optimization.
• Proficiency in process simulation and modeling software.
• Strong understanding of chemical reaction engineering, thermodynamics, and mass transfer.
• Experience with statistical analysis and SPC techniques.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and project management skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration.
