Manage, direct, plan, organize, and coordinate the daily airside operations of the airport.

Monitor and evaluate operational performance against KPIs.

Oversee the publication and maintenance of the Aerodrome Manual and Safety Management System Manual, ensuring compliance with national regulations.

Coordinate with airside stakeholders, including government agencies, air carriers, and airport users.

Lead the Airside Operations and Aerodrome Safety departments, including staff training, planning, staffing, and management.

Develop and update SOPs, Advisory Circulars, Manuals, and other operational and safety documents.

Conduct necessary committee meetings (Ramp Operators, Runway Safety, Safety Review, Wildlife Management, etc.) as per SMS guidelines.

Participate in operational and safety meetings, providing guidance and implementing recommendations.

Ensure sufficient resources are available for airside functions.

Recommend department development and staff career progression to executive management.

Monitor staff performance, ensuring KPIs and SPIs are met, including inspections, incident reports, and safety audits.

Review master plans and project proposals, providing expert advice on airside safety and operations.

Maintain training and competency records for staff, ensuring ongoing compliance.

Implement SMS pillars effectively, including safety policies, assurance, risk management, and promotion.

Deliver safety training to management on change management, risk assessment, and SMS awareness; ensure training compliance.

Manage quality control for airside and safety documentation.

Guide the Manager of Aerodrome Safety in SMS implementation and the Manager of Airside Operations in manual maintenance.

Analyze safety performance data, informing the accountable manager and BCAA as needed.

Lead staff during emergencies, following established procedures and plans.

Report safety breaches, conduct safety investigations, and review reports.

Ensure safety training aligns with guidelines and SMS requirements.

Provide leadership and resource allocation to key areas, ensuring priorities are met.

Conduct business case studies for operational and safety enhancements.

Prepare budgets for the departments, ensuring safety and operational standards are maintained.

Evaluate staff performance, addressing HR issues per policies.

Update and implement wildlife hazard management procedures for safety and compliance.

Perform additional related duties as assigned.

The role involves strategic planning for department improvements, stakeholder engagement, and representing the organization in various forums. It requires both managerial oversight and operational presence at the airport, with occasional representation at national and international levels.

Minimum Qualification:

ACI Safety Management Diploma or equivalent; additional certifications or academic qualifications preferred.

Minimum Experience:

Over 10 years in airport management, with proven experience in airside operations, safety processes, and team management. Experience in managing change in live environments is essential.
