Job Description
The main purpose of the position is to handle the installation, modifications, and maintenance of the SCADA System and PLC. The candidate will be responsible for the overall project by leading the contract team and reporting directly to the Ministry Engineer. They will oversee the control and performance of the project.
Responsibilities include liaising with the Ministry Engineer for the proper operation of the SCADA system, preparing and executing routine preventive maintenance, and working closely with application and system administration teams to coordinate activities, resolve issues, and perform application tuning.
Key Responsibilities:- Service, repair, and maintain SCADA and PLC systems, along with associated field instruments and low voltage switchgear at client sites.
- Perform programming and troubleshooting on PLCs and SCADA monitors; supervise electrical engineers and technicians.
- Participate in system maintenance, diagnosis of failures, and on-the-spot problem solving.
- Support the Project Manager in generating revenue from maintenance and value-added services.
- Maintain systems under annual maintenance contracts through planned preventive and corrective activities.
- Coordinate daily with client representatives and log maintenance activities.
- Respond to emergency call-outs and repairs.
- Support 24x7 shift schedules for critical system maintenance.
- Technical competence in SCADA programming, PLC interfacing, troubleshooting, and system modifications (Schneider, ABB, Siemens).
- Experience in water and wastewater treatment plants is advantageous.
- Degree in Electronics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.
- Strong site and customer management skills.
- Ability to manage a team and monitor maintenance schedules.
- Effective communication skills.
- 4-8 years of hands-on experience with SCADA/PLC systems in engineering or maintenance roles.
- Preference for experience with National Instruments LabVIEW or Lookout SCADA; NI certification is a plus.
