Our client, a leading online retailer, is seeking a meticulous and organized Inventory & Stock Controller to manage and optimize stock levels for their fully remote operations. This critical role ensures the efficient flow of goods, minimizes stockouts and overstock situations, and contributes directly to the company's profitability and customer satisfaction. You will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of inventory management from receiving to dispatch, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in all processes.
Key responsibilities include developing and implementing inventory control procedures, maintaining accurate inventory records using specialized software, and conducting regular stocktakes and cycle counts. You will analyze sales data, demand forecasts, and historical trends to predict future stock requirements and plan procurement accordingly. This involves collaborating with suppliers and logistics partners to ensure timely deliveries and manage lead times effectively. You will also be responsible for identifying and addressing discrepancies, investigating causes of loss or damage, and implementing corrective actions. This role demands a proactive approach to optimizing warehouse space, improving stock rotation, and reducing carrying costs while maintaining service levels.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of inventory management principles and best practices, preferably within an e-commerce or retail environment. Proficiency in inventory management software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or specialized WMS) and strong analytical skills are essential. You should be comfortable working independently and managing tasks remotely, demonstrating excellent organizational and time-management abilities. A Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred. At least 3-5 years of experience in inventory control or a similar role is required. Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with internal teams and external vendors are crucial for success in this remote position.
