Responsibilities:
- Install and commission a variety of HVAC systems, including central air conditioning, furnaces, boilers, heat pumps, and ventilation systems.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and installation manuals to ensure accurate system placement and connectivity.
- Connect electrical, refrigeration, and ductwork components according to technical specifications.
- Perform pressure testing, leak detection, and evacuation procedures for refrigeration circuits.
- Install and connect thermostats, humidistats, and other control devices.
- Ensure all installed systems are functioning correctly and efficiently through thorough testing and adjustments.
- Adhere to safety protocols and use personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any installation-related issues that may arise.
- Maintain accurate records of installed equipment, materials used, and labor hours.
- Provide basic orientation to clients on the operation and maintenance of their new HVAC systems.
- Collaborate with other tradespeople on construction sites to ensure seamless project integration.
- Keep up-to-date with the latest HVAC technologies, installation techniques, and safety standards.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Uphold the company's reputation for quality workmanship and professionalism.
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a vocational training program or apprenticeship in HVAC is highly preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in HVAC system installation.
- Proven ability to read and understand technical drawings and specifications.
- Proficiency with hand and power tools used in HVAC installation.
- Knowledge of electrical wiring, refrigeration cycles, and airflow principles.
- Familiarity with building codes and safety regulations related to HVAC installations.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Good physical condition and ability to work in various environmental conditions, including confined spaces and heights.
- Excellent customer service skills and a professional demeanor.
- Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., EPA Section 608) are a strong asset.

- Utilize the full functionality available under Control-M to innovate and make better all the tasks running in GPH.
- Configure Reports on Control-M to report on all operations being performed under Control-M to higher management

- A minimum of a Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or equivalent
- Solid experience working as a Control-M Scheduler in a distributed environment of Windows/Linux/Solaris/AIX

- Experience working in financial services, banking or other fast paced 24/7 regulated financial organizations

The boot process is one of the most critical aspects of any operating system where stability, reliability and security are paramount. Its efficiency and quality contribute to Ubuntu's success from Desktop, Server to the Cloud. We are expanding our Foundations team to focus our efforts on this essential function and are looking for people passionate about lower level technologies from the hardware, to the firmware, and Linux itself, involved in an operating system startup. Applicants should be comfortable working with Secure Boot, Measured Boot, Full Disk Encryption and other technologies used during modern operating systems boot process.
This is highly technical work, and we are looking for a colleague with a very careful and systematic approach to their software. This work is critical to system security and reliability.
The Ubuntu Foundations Team delivers and maintains the core of the Ubuntu system, the base for the entire Ubuntu family of products and services. Ubuntu strives to deliver the latest and best free software components, in an easy to use and highly reliable form. We build on the technical excellence of Debian and bring additional focus and shape to the solutions we offer industry.
As a Linux System Engineer, you will work on the architecture, design and development of core components involved in the boot and startup of the Ubuntu Distribution, often interacting with the upstream community for projects like Grub, shim and u-boot. You will be discussing design with other team members and mentor less senior engineers and participate in code reviews and design reviews. You will also be working with other teams to ensure architecture decisions improve the overall performance and experience of Ubuntu.
What you'll do
- Collaborate proactively with a distributed team
- Work with highly technical team to define and shape the boot architecture of Ubuntu
- Work with teams focused on Ubuntu for server, desktop, IoT and clouds
- Write high quality code to create new features and contribute upstream
- Contribute to feature and bug fixes in projects including Grub, shim, u-boot and associated tools.

- Review code produced by other engineers

Canonical's OEM Delivery Team works with tier-one OEM, IHV, and ODM customers to pre-load Ubuntu Classic, Ubuntu Core, and bring Ubuntu directly to millions of users. We are hiring a Senior Ubuntu Embedded IoT System Engineer to represent Canonical with leading OEMs, ODMs, and silicon partners and to deliver the best user experience of Ubuntu on partner hardware for Robotics, Automotive, SmartNIC, Medical device, Industry gateway and many other products.
In this role, you will use your knowledge of Linux and hardware and improve Ubuntu for millions of users.
We work with the world's most significant silicon companies - Intel, AMD, Nvidia, Mediatek, Hisilicon, Samsung and more - to optimize Ubuntu on their next-generation chips. We also work with OEMs and ODMs - Dell, HP, Lenovo, Advantech, ADLink and many more - to ensure that Ubuntu works perfectly on their hardware.
This fast-paced environment requires excellent time management, insightful debugging, critical thinking, problem-solving skills and deep knowledge of the Linux system .
Location: This role will be based remotely in the EMEA region
The role entails
- Provide software and system engineering services for OEM and ODM customers
- Work closely with partners on platform bring up
- Work with project managers and Field/QA engineers to identify, triage, and fix critical problems
- Work with individual upstream projects to find and apply patches for bugs
- Conduct root cause analysis, collect and organize details to reproduce and explain results
- Facilitate communication between Ubuntu, firmware and hardware engineering teams
- Occasional international travel to the EU, USA, Taiwan and China
- A Bachelor or higher degree in STEM, preferably Computer Science or Electrical Engineering
- Exceptional academic track record from both high school and university
- Professional written and spoken English with excellent presentation skills
- Familiar with C, Python and Bash
- Familiar with linux boot up process
- Linux kernel, boot and system-level architecture skills
- Experience of bootloader development, such as u-boot
- Software development on Arm or non-X86 platforms
- Linux debugging and resolution abilities
- Ability to be productive in a globally distributed team
- Ability to learn fast to work on cutting edge technologies
- Ability to travel internationally twice a year for company events up to two weeks long
- Experience with system firmware, including uboot, UEFI, ACPI, DSDT, boot loaders, device firmware
- Experience debugging power management on PCI ASPM, SATA ALPM, low power profiles
- Experience in board design, bring up, and validation
- Experience with electrical engineering design tools (e.g. schematic capture, layout)
- Computer architecture knowledge of x86, ARM, RISC-V
- Familiarity with Ubuntu development model
- Shell/Python scripting skills

The mission of the LXD team is to build a next-generation private cloud infrastructure, combining KVM, Ceph, and SDN technologies to create a data center scale cloud that 'just works' and provides a mission-critical cloud for edge and core enterprise deployments. We are hiring a Golang software engineer to work on the low level Go codebase sitting between our REST API and the low level C libraries used to manage containers and virtual machines. We are looking for system-level developers with experience in design and data management/modeling.
LXD components span the entire software stack from low-level kernel features to the upper level management API/CLI. Our most effective engineers are fluent in all these layers, and able to anticipate the consequences of design and engineering choices elsewhere in a complex distributed system.

What you will focus on
- Design, implement and document system level Go code
- Model data, design database schema and implement data storage in a dqlite (SQL) database
- Maintain code quality through static analysis, unit and system tests
- Collaborate proactively with a distributed team
- Discuss ideas and collaborate on finding good solutions
- Work from home with global travel 2 to 4 weeks/year for internal and external events
- You have experience programming in Go and C
- You are knowledgeable in networking and storage technologies
- You have experience with two or more of: cloud computing, virtualisation, containers, distributed systems, open source community

You will be discussing design with other team members and mentor less senior engineers and participate in code reviews and design reviews. You will also be working with other teams to ensure architecture decisions improve the overall performance and experience of Ubuntu. Your role as part of the Ubuntu Foundations team will have an impact on every aspect of Ubuntu from Desktop, Server, Ubuntu Core and also cloud images.
