We are welcoming applications for an Assistant Systems Administrator to join us in November 2025. The Assistant Systems Administrator is responsible for the servers management, MS Entra & Intune, Google Workspace, security, and maintenance of the school's IT systems. The post holder ensures the smooth operation of all digital infrastructure to support teaching, learning, and operations, while driving innovation and ensuring compliance with safeguarding and data protection regulations

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Systems Administration & Infrastructure

  • Manage and maintain servers, storage, and IT services for high availability.
  • Oversee cloud-based platforms Microsoft Entra – Ms365 – Intune & Google Workspace.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve IT issues efficiently to minimise downtime.
  • Plan and execute upgrades, patches, and migrations with minimal disruption.
  • Ensure backup, recovery, and disaster recovery processes are robust and regularly tested.
  • Account creation and management

Security & Compliance

  • Implement and monitor cybersecurity systems (Microsoft endpoint protection, intrusion detection).
  • Manage user accounts, authentication, and permissions in Microsoft Entra & Intune / Google Workspace

Innovation & Development

  • Introduce and manage new technologies to enhance teaching, learning, and administration.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, IT, or related.
  • Professional certifications (e.g., Microsoft, Cisco, Security+).
  • 5–7 years of experience in IT systems.
  • Expertise in MS 365 and Google Workspace.
  • Expertise in Windows Server, Active Directory, MS Intune and virtualization.
  • Strong knowledge of cybersecurity, networking, and cloud-based technologies.

Job Summary

We are seeking a proactive and "cloud-first" IT Administrator to take full ownership of our modern, hybrid IT environment. Your primary responsibility will be the administration, optimization, and security of our core cloud infrastructure, which is built on Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365. You will serve as our in-house expert for all cloud services, managing everything from Azure virtual servers and networking to our M365 user applications.

While your expertise is in the cloud, this is a hands-on, standalone role. You will also be responsible for managing all physical, on-premise IT, including the corporate network (switches, firewalls), user workstations, and other office hardware.

This position is perfect for a technical professional who is passionate about cloud technology but also enjoys the variety and hands-on challenges of managing the complete IT landscape for a dynamic company.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

I. Cloud Infrastructure & Service Management (Primary Focus)

  • Serve as the primary technical administrator for the company's cloud-native infrastructure in Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365.
  • Administer, secure, and optimize all Azure-based infrastructure, including virtual machines, storage, and networking (VNETs, NSGs).
  • Proactively monitor cloud service health, performance, and cost, providing regular reports and recommendations for optimization.
  • Manage user identities and access control (IAM) using Azure Active Directory and ensuring synchronization with any on-premise AD.

II. Hybrid Network & On-Premise Management

  • Architect, maintain, and troubleshoot the entire corporate network, including the CORE-LAN, WAN, DMZ, and core/access switches.
  • Manage all external connectivity, including MPLS, site-to-site VPNs, and ISP management.
  • Maintain and support all essential on-premise IT hardware, including physical network infrastructure (switches, firewalls), virtualization hosts (Hyper-V), and NAS devices.
  • Implement and manage comprehensive data backup, disaster recovery (DR), and business continuity plans, including DR site maintenance.

III. Cybersecurity Monitoring & Compliance

  • Monitor pre-configured security dashboards (SIEM, firewall, WAF) for critical alerts and report any significant incidents to management and external security partners.
  • Oversee basic security hygiene, ensuring endpoint protection (antivirus) is operational on all devices and that critical security patches are applied in a timely manner.
  • Assist in enforcing established IT security policies and access control protocols.
  • Review vulnerability and security reports provided by external partners and assist in tracking the remediation of any identified issues.
  • Ensure all IT systems and documentation are maintained in compliance with local Bahraini regulations and industry best practices.

IV. End-User Support & IT Administration

  • Provide expert-level "hands-on" technical support to all employees for hardware (laptops, printers), software (M365), and connectivity.
  • Manage all physical IT tasks, including new employee workstation setup, formatting, and office network wiring.
  • Administer the physical access control and CCTV systems (e.g., Dahua), ensuring operational integrity and providing monthly attendance reports to HR.
  • Manage the full IT procurement and asset management lifecycle for all hardware and software.
  • Develop and maintain all technical documentation (network diagrams, SOPs) and generate regular reports on system health, security alerts, and project status.

Required Qualifications

  • A minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in a System Administrator, Cloud Administrator, or similar IT infrastructure role.
  • Deep, proven expertise in administering Microsoft Azure infrastructure, including Azure AD, VNETs, NSGs, and Azure Virtual Machines.
  • Strong proficiency in administering Microsoft 365 environments, including Exchange Online, SharePoint, and Teams.
  • Demonstrated experience with hybrid identity management (Azure AD Connect, on-premise Active Directory, DNS, DHCP).
  • Proficiency in administering Microsoft Windows Server environments.
  • Familiarity with monitoring enterprise-grade firewalls (e.g., Fortinet FortiGate, Azure Firewall) and understanding their reports.
  • Strong understanding of basic security operations: This includes monitoring security dashboards (SIEM), ensuring endpoint protection is active, and managing a patch deployment schedule.
  • Ability to read and understand vulnerability reports and escalate critical findings.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with on-premise virtualization platforms (e.g., Microsoft Hyper-V, VMware).
  • Experience with Network Attached Storage (NAS) devices (e.g., QNAP).
  • Experience with VoIP phone systems (e.g., Avaya, 3CX).
  • An IT certification such as an Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104), CompTIA Security+, or other relevant cloud/security certifications.
  • A strong aptitude and willingness to learn and manage legacy on-premise systems.
  • Familiarity with CCTV, NVR, and access control systems (e.g., Dahua).
