Job Description

SERVICE TECHNICIAN

As a Service Technician you are responsible for:

- Carryout defect investigations, trouble shooting and site surveys.
- Strip, inspect and test hydraulic components such as pump, motor, cylinder and valves.
- Through knowledge of pump & motor assembly & testing.
- Recording of measurements and test results as the jobs are carried out.
- Carryout and monitor inspection/test of hydraulic components or systems.
- Ensure all Testing and Monitoring Equipment or Instruments are identified and maintained in good order at all times.
- Read and interpret drawings, manuals and code specifications.
- Maintain the workshop, plant equipment and accessories in good order & maintenance of housekeeping at all job locations.
- Report and document the activities carried out in line with the documentation requirements of the company
- Prepare reports on investigations, trouble shooting and site surveys.
- Coordinate with technical/sales staff in carrying out various tests, inspection, trails, and defect rectification or investigation of various Gates systems / equipment in the workshop facility and at job locations.
- Ensure all transactions are carried out in compliance with the applicable standards, Company Quality (ISO) procedures and provide advice to the QHSE Department of any non-conformance issues.
- Follow necessary safety regulations, applicable work instructions, operating procedures, method statements, etc. as required, in carrying out the jobs.
- Use proper PPEs, spares, tools, equipment and accessories to the optimum utility.
- Careful handling and preservation of customer equipment and accessories.
- Report all incidents, accidents, near-misses, unsafe conditions and acts to the supervisors/Safety Officer.
- Comply with all occupational health, safety and environmental procedures of both the company and of client while working.
- In addition, shall also support the activities of the other units whenever requested.
- Other duties associated with successful development of the unit.

Required Experience:

- Functions as an Individual contributor
- Two years of related experience in service activities
- Should hold a Vocational/Technical Certificate or a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
- Ability to communicate openly, honestly and constructively and treat all customers with dignity and respect.
- Ability to work on offshore/onshore site for extended periods of time.
- Ability to work well in a team environment.
- Commitment to continuous improvement in Quality, Health, Safety and the Environment (QHSE).
- Awareness of ISO 9001, 14001, 45001 & API Q1, 7K & 16C standards are preferable.

Our client, a well-established facilities management company, is seeking a skilled and dedicated HVAC Service Technician to join their team. Based in Janabiyah, Northern, BH , this role is crucial for ensuring the optimal performance and longevity of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems across a diverse portfolio of commercial and residential properties. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing routine maintenance, diagnosing complex issues, and executing effective repairs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform preventive maintenance on HVAC systems, including checking and cleaning components, lubricating moving parts, and replacing filters.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot complex mechanical, electrical, and control system issues in various HVAC equipment, such as chillers, split units, package units, and VRF/VRV systems.
  • Execute repairs and replacements of faulty components, ensuring systems are restored to full operational capacity.
  • Conduct system performance tests and adjustments to optimize energy efficiency and indoor air quality.
  • Respond promptly to service calls and emergency breakdowns, providing efficient and effective solutions.
  • Document all service and maintenance activities, including parts used, time spent, and issues resolved, in a detailed and accurate manner.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, explaining technical issues and proposed solutions clearly and professionally.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and industry best practices while performing duties.
  • Maintain tools and equipment in good working order and ensure proper inventory levels of common parts.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to junior technicians as needed.
  • Identify opportunities for system upgrades or improvements and recommend solutions to clients.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an accredited HVAC technical program strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of direct experience as an HVAC Service Technician, preferably in a commercial or large residential setting.
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC electrical systems, control circuits, and refrigeration cycles.
  • Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment specific to HVAC systems.
  • Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Physical ability to lift heavy equipment, climb ladders, and work in various environmental conditions.
  • Certification from a recognized HVAC industry body (e.g., EPA 608) is a significant advantage.
