Job Description
Responsible for personal safety and that of all employees under of the organization, including others who may be affected by the company’s activities.
RESPONSIBILITY
- Advise employees maintaining the site to do so as per regulations and company Safety Policy.
- To conduct inspection, daily observation at site to ensure it is a hazard-free environment.
- Verifies that injury logs and reports are completed and submitted to Manager HSE.
- Conducts investigations of all accidents and near-misses and report to Manager HSE.
- Ensure accident and near-miss reporting procedures are understood and complied with, and assist with accident investigations.
- Ensure the statutory notices, the safety policy, Insurance Certificate and the names of appointed First Aiders are displayed and maintained in prominent location.
- Communicate Safety rules and regulation in tool box talk/minutes of meetings weekly.
- To observe and maintain PPE, Fire Safety, Fall Arrest System, Ladder Safety, Scaffold & Cradle safety, Lifting Safety for work operation.
- Strongly involved in safety material requirements, allocation and emergency response plans.
- The safety officer reviews and approves all subcontractors’ safety plans.
- Exercises on how to manage emergency situations through internal workshops, external trainings, periodical mock-ups.
- To conduct risk assessment and hazard analyses for each and every job executed at site.
- Induct Safety policies and procedures by conducting regular awareness programs and meetings.
- Monitor the safety of all workers and works to protect them from entering hazardous situations.
- Maintain good housekeeping, waste segregation, and removal of waste.
- Rectify and submit the reports from and responds to orders issued by Department of Labour inspectors.
- Verify the location, activity and competency before issuing the PTW (Permit to Work).
- Maintain all HSE documents related to the projects and ensure it is kept up to date, and produced for any references or HSE Internal / External Audit.
- Attend regular meetings, workshops and trainings (Internal/External) organized by the Manager HSE.
QUALIFICATION
- Bachelor Degree in Engineering or its equivalent with additional qualifications in HSE and Fire & Safety Management Systems.
- HSE Professional Achievements in IOSH MS, NEBOSH IGC, NEBOSH HSW
- 1-2 years of Experience in similiar field.
- Proven experience as Safety Officer
- Deep understanding of legal Health and Safety guidelines
- Excellent organizational and motivational skills
- Outstanding attention to detail and observation ability
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities

Yellow Door Energy (YDE) is on the lookout for a dedicated and passionate Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Officer to champion safety and environmental stewardship on our largest upcoming solar PV project in the Middle East to date! This is a 1-year contract role with strong potential for on-going extension.
Role Overview:
As the HSE Officer , you will be responsible for ensuring the safe execution of works on-site by implementing YDE’s HSE policies, conducting risk assessments, coordinating with contractors, and maintaining full compliance with local authority HSE regulations in Bahrain. This role supports the QHSSE Manager – Bahrain & KSA and is essential to fostering a proactive safety culture in line with our zero-accident goal and IFC Performance Standards .
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement and uphold YDE’s HSE policies, plans, and procedures across all project phases
- Supervise daily site activities to ensure strict contractor compliance with HSE protocols and performance standards
- Conduct and document routine HSE inspections, audits, and site walkdowns , identifying non-compliance and following up on corrective actions
- Coordinate HSE activities between internal departments, external contractors, and third-party vendors to ensure seamless interface and safe execution
- Lead and participate in emergency preparedness drills and ensure readiness for emergency response procedures
- Ensure availability and proper usage of PPE and safety equipment , and that personnel adhere to site safety rules
- Promptly identify and report unsafe acts, near misses, and hazardous conditions to management, and propose preventive solutions
- Maintain and organize project-specific HSE documentation , including risk assessments, checklists, incident logs, and toolbox talks
- Support the development of safety standards , method statements, and job hazard analyses in collaboration with the QHSSE Manager
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and supervisors to plan and implement a comprehensive project safety strategy
- Provide HSE guidance and support during client visits, inspections, and regulatory authority engagements
- Monitor construction activities and schedule to identify areas for improvement and recommend safety-related adjustments to work plans
Key Result Areas:
- Champion a proactive and preventive HSE culture
- Ensure compliance with local HSE regulations and internal company standards
- Drive continuous improvement in health and safety processes across the site
- Maintain full documentation and reporting in line with contractual and regulatory requirements
We're Looking For:
Essential:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, or related field
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in an HSE Officer or EHS site-based role
- Sound knowledge of Bahrain’s HSE legal and regulatory framework
- Valid Bahrain driving license and personal vehicle
- Comfortable working at height, particularly on rooftop and elevated solar installations
Preferred:
- NEBOSH / IOSH or equivalent internationally recognized HSE certification
- Experience working on solar PV or renewable energy construction sites
- Familiarity with IFC Performance Standards and international HSE protocols
- Hands-on experience with permit-to-work systems , risk assessment tools, and incident reporting platforms
