The purpose of this role is to provide expert opinion on various health and safety matters related to the work environment within BAC's premises and BIA, ensuring safety for all staff and passengers.

The role includes recommending measures to protect BIA's infrastructure during operations and maintenance, and performing audits and inspections of stakeholders and contractors within BIA to ensure compliance with legal, moral, and financial standards.

1. Assist the Head - Health & Safety and Manager - Health and Safety in developing, maintaining, and improving health and safety processes and procedures.
2. Perform audits and inspections of stakeholders, contractors, and BAC facilities to ensure safety for passengers, staff, and airport users.
3. Issue reports on non-conformities with rectification recommendations.
4. Follow up on inspections to close outstanding issues.
5. Stay informed of relevant laws and legislation to ensure BIA's compliance with industry standards and external accreditation bodies.
6. Provide training to staff and management on health and safety topics such as First Aid, Confined Space, Rigging, and Lifting.
7. Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses to identify root causes and recommend preventive measures.
8. Develop policies and procedures related to health and safety to ensure safe operations.
9. Manage health and safety projects to ensure successful completion.
10. Perform ad-hoc tasks as required.

Education / Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or a similar technical field.

Experience

At least 5 years of relevant experience in the field.

• NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent (desirable).
• NEBOSH General or International Certificate.
• ISO 45001 Lead Auditor.
• Experience working with ISO management systems such as ISO 9001, 45001, and 14001.
• Experience in planning and supervising lifting operations (Qualified LEEA Lifting Supervisor is preferred).
• Experience delivering health and safety training programs.
• Experience carrying out accident investigations and generating RCA reports.
• Strong knowledge of electromechanical equipment (motors, generators, fans).
• Strong communication & organisational skills.
• Ability to act independently.
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).

The role involves tactical command and control, planning, and execution of contingencies and exercises within CENTCOM’s AOR.

• Provide safety management assistance and monitor the Occupational Health Management program for the Commanding General, 5th Marine Expeditionary Brigade.
• Guide on Safety and Occupational Health issues throughout the command.
• Conduct safety inspections and surveys.
• Maintain safety and facilities documentation; verify compliance.
• Complete administrative tasks related to safety and occupational health regulations, including report generation.
• Provide safety training and awareness programs.
• Advise management on safety and occupational hazards, prepare reports, and recommend improvements.
• Receive technical guidance from the MARCENT Safety Manager in Tampa.

• Location: 5th Marine Expeditionary Brigade, Bahrain.
• Travel: Support for various countries within CENTCOM’s AOR, with the ability to travel on short notice and support personnel recovery and training operations.
