Job Description

A System Administrator is an information technology (IT) professional who makes sure an organization’s computer systems are functioning and meet the needs of the organization. Sysadmins support, troubleshoot, and maintain computer servers and networks.

Roles & Responsibilities
  1. Install and configure software and hardware.
  2. Manage on-premises and cloud servers and storage.
  3. Manage and maintain Active Directory.
  4. Manage and maintain Windows & Linux server OS.
  5. Manage Microsoft Office365 Admin account.
  6. Manage AWS accounts.
  7. Set up accounts and workstations.
  8. Monitor performance and maintain systems according to requirements.
  9. Troubleshoot issues and outages.
  10. Ensure security through access controls, backups, and antivirus server.
  11. Upgrade systems with new releases and models.
  12. Develop expertise to train staff on new technologies.
  13. Build an internal wiki with technical documentation, manuals, and IT policies.
  14. Set up new users and give them access to the intranet.
  15. Manage and maintain the file servers.
  16. Employ the latest security protocols.
Minimum Requirements
  1. Proven experience as a System Administrator, Network Administrator, or similar role.
  2. Experience with servers, storage devices, and patch management.
  3. Knowledge of system security (e.g. intrusion detection systems) and data backup/recovery.
  4. Familiarity with various operating systems and platforms.
  5. Resourcefulness and problem-solving aptitude.
  6. Excellent communication skills.
Educational Qualifications & Certifications
  1. BSc/BA in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline; professional certification (e.g. Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA) and AWS certified) is a plus.
Experience
  1. Minimum 3 years progressive experience in system administration and technical support.
Required Skills
  1. Good communication skills.
  2. Must be fluent in English (speaking, reading, and writing) and preferably Arabic.
  3. Microsoft MCSE certification or similar.
  4. Linux (RHCSA) certification or similar.
  5. AWS certification is a plus.
  6. Availability outside of working hours to resolve emergency issues promptly.
  7. Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

  23. Deploying the defined new installations and upgrading of hardware, and identifying faults prior to informing the respective vendors or related Organizations IT parties in order to resolve issues in a timely manner and thus facilitate uninterrupted operation.
  24. Installing, configuring and monitoring installed hardware as per defined procedures and accurately identifying and reporting hardware faults to the concerned Organizations personnel to take immediate action and resolve the problem at the earliest.
  25. Administering server storage capacity, monitoring data collisions and system processes and patches, and rectifying issues ensuring that they are ready and correctly deployed.
  26. Participating and testing the efficiency of disaster recovery procedures so that they can be reinstated in a timely and integral manner without any loss of data in the event of a disaster scenario.
  27. Providing first level technical assistance facilitating smooth running of IT operations at all times and maintaining uninterrupted flow of work.
  28. Carrying out IT help desk work within the department procedures ensuring consistency of service to users.
  29. Supporting users in the use of computer equipment by the provisioning of expert advice, training and resolution of their problems, escalating the problem to the relevant Organization parties when the answer is not readily available.
  30. Providing proactive and reactive support on premises and remote support for immediately resolving any of the Organization end user problems.
  31. Administering the database, monitoring database performance and server hardware, performing restore, database tune up to increase efficiency and response time.
  32. Monitoring and fine-tuning the performance of databases (including troubleshooting).
  33. Performing daily, weekly and monthly maintenance/back-up of the databases and ensuring reliability/recoverability of information in the database to ensure operational continuity.
