Cybersecurity Engineer (EDR/XDR & Fortinet)

About the Role:
We are looking for a skilled Cybersecurity Engineer to join our Information Security team on a 1-year renewable contract. The ideal candidate will have 1–2+ years of hands-on experience in Endpoint Detection & Response (EDR), Extended Detection & Response (XDR), and Fortinet firewall technologies. In this role, you will help secure our financial systems and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor, analyze, and respond to security incidents using EDR/XDR platforms.
- Configure, manage, and troubleshoot Fortinet FortiGate firewalls and related solutions.
- Assist in implementing network and endpoint security controls.
- Perform routine system and security checks; escalate findings and vulnerabilities.
- Support the SOC team in incident detection, investigation, and response.
- Maintain clear documentation of incidents, policies, and configurations.
- Work with IT and compliance teams to align with financial sector regulations.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 1–2+ years of relevant experience in cybersecurity (EDR/XDR & firewall management).
- Hands-on knowledge of Fortinet FortiGate firewalls (VPN, policies, configurations).
- Familiarity with EDR/XDR solutions (Sophos, Fortinet, CrowdStrike, or similar).
- Basic knowledge of networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, VPN, SSL/TLS).
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in fast-paced environments.
- Good communication and reporting skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bahraini nationals are strongly encouraged to apply.
- Fortinet NSE 4 certification or equivalent.
- Exposure to financial sector cybersecurity standards (PCI DSS, SWIFT, ISO
- Experience with SIEM tools (FortiAnalyzer, Splunk, QRadar, etc.).
