What you will be doing

• Supervise system testing, balancing, and commissioning to ensure optimal performance.
• Verify that mechanical systems meet operational and environmental requirements.
• Provide technical guidance on mechanical designs and site challenges.
• Review and approve mechanical materials and equipment for site installation.
• Identifying potential hazards and ensuring safety compliance.
• Identify and resolve mechanical system defects and recommend corrective actions.
• Oversee the installation, testing, and commissioning of mechanical systems such as HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection.
• Conduct inspections to verify adherence to local building codes.
• Collaborate with architects, civil engineers, and contractors to integrate mechanical systems into the project.
• Ensure compliance with project specifications, industry standards, and safety regulations.
• Ensure proper handling, storage, and installation of mechanical components.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, conducting inspections, and troubleshooting mechanical issues to ensure efficiency and safety

• 8+ years experience in mechanical engineering.

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.

• Saudi Council of Engineers (SSE) Membership or any local engineer's society membership, i.e. CRPEP (for Bahrain).

• Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, and project management tools.
• Knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and mechanical system design
• Ability to assess site conditions and optimize mechanical installations.
• Clear and effective communication with project teams and stakeholders.
• Ability to handle unexpected challenges in site supervision.
• Clear communication both in verbal and written form.
• Works well in team environment, collaborative approach.
• High attention to detail, works in a thorough, systematic way.
• Solution minded to overcome issues and meet quality and project time targets.

Description and Desired Qualifications
CH2M HILL Mechanical Engineer (Rotating) - Abu Dhabi, UAE

Job Purpose: Mechanical Rotating Engineer to carry out the FEED and detailed design engineering independently for Rotating equipment/packages.

Job Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

1. To be the Project Lead Rotating/Package engineer independently leading medium to large scale projects (FEED, Detailed Design etc.)
2. Scope Review FEED endorsement; Equipment selection report
3. Project manpower planning and scheduling
4. Interaction and meetings with Client/PMC, Vendors and other third parties

Basic Qualifications
Job Requirements/Qualifications/Experience:

1. Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering is essential (Master’s Degree preferred)
2. Minimum 10 years of Rotating Equipment Design experience
3. Previous design experience in engineering consultancy or EPC company
4. Work independently producing good quality deliverables and within approved man-hour budgets
5. Good communication skills
6. Good client / PMC interaction and coordination

  The Mechanical Engineering Department at the College of Engineering, Gulf University is seeking to recruit enthusiastic full-time academic position at the lecturer rank in the general area of Mechanical Engineering. Successful candidates will be expected to teach a variety of courses to undergraduate students in the classroom and laboratory settings in different mechanical topics, including but not limited to strength of material, static, dynamic and theory of machines. Candidates are expected to develop strong collaborative, innovative and multi-disciplinary research activities, and to contribute to the delivery, strengthening and development of teaching in engineering. Postholders will be expected to have a broad knowledge of a range of topics in mechanical engineering discipline. Programs will be delivered in English and so fluency in English is essential.

  • Master degree in mechanical engineering from an accredited university is required.
  • A minimum of three years of experience in teaching different courses in the general area of mechanical engineering.
  • Experience in developing course specifications as per the national qualification framework and international accreditation standards.
